Release Blitz: Nobody Knows by Rebecca Barber...

Gillian Dempsey must find a reason to go on…

Easier said than done after a rare virus robs her of both parents. Left alone and confused, the mourning nineteen-year-old flees to her three best friends, who receive her with open arms.

Her parents give her more than an inheritance—they give her a second chance at life…

When Gillian is left with some properties in her parents’ will, she assigns them to a real estate agent to manage. Joel Matthews takes the job, but he quickly becomes more than a business associate. After a string of fortunate coincidences, Gillian and Joel spend a passionate night together—after which Joel all but vanishes from her life.

But they still have unfinished business, and Gillian won’t allow him to slip away—especially with her heart.

Life is a roller coaster of tragedy and joy…

Gillian reels him in, and soon the two are married. Gillian’s heart expands even more when they receive the news of their first pregnancy. But after the baby is born, things aren’t the same. Joel becomes distant…resentful. And then the abuse begins. Darkness consumes their marriage—only to get worse.

While Gillian tries to hold her family together, it seems Joel is doing everything to tear them apart. But just one slip of his temper makes all the difference, because this time, there’s no turning back.

Maybe being abused can be endured, as long as Nobody Knows…until someone ends up dead.

Come with Me by Sable Hunter & Ryan O'Leary...

Lacy spends her time planning events at a country club. Her latest and greatest project is the big Fourth of July celebration. Fireworks lighting up the sky – Red Hot and Boom! She loves the excitement and the spectacular display of sparkles and heat gives her a thrill. The only problem is… Lacy has never had any fireworks of her own. Despite having to listen to her friends tell of their sexual escapades, she has never experienced the big ‘O’. According to the only man she’s ever given herself to, Lacy is frigid. Is something wrong with her or has she just not met the right man for the job?

Jake is the manager of the golf course at the country club. He’s designing and overseeing a building project and the sight of him shirtless and sweating and flexing…has given Lacy ideas. Jake has a certain reputation of being able to handle almost any task he’s given. Rumors of his sexual prowess are legendary. Now, every time Lacy sees him working with his hands, doing some heavy lifting, his body gleaming with the sheen of exertion – she begins to hope that Jake can give her what no one else ever has.

*Excerpt***

“Might want to do up your jacket,” a strong male voice said beside her.

Lacy froze. This was beginning to be a habit. Yes, when she turned, Jake was right there, leaning against the beige brick wall with his arms folded across his thick chest. “What did you say?” She finally managed to ask.

“Before you go in, you might want to button your coat or you’re going to give everybody a thrill,” Jake said, gesturing with his hand at her open blouse.

Not understanding, Lacy looked down and found her white blouse clinging to her chest, her light green bra very visible through the fabric. Good gravy! “Dang, I’m so sorry.” Lacy squeaked, clasping her small purse in front of her chest. She’d wanted him to see her bra one day, but this wasn’t how she’d envisioned it going down.

Jake chuckled. “Don’t be sorry. I’m not.”

“What’s so funny?” Lacy inquired, embarrassed. After all the things she’d been daydreaming about them doing together, finding herself in a situation like this with Jake was almost more than she could bear.

“You’re gonna need a bigger purse than that,” he said with a wry smile. The teasing and ribbing he’d taken from those three dating service women came to mind. It was clear, if you gave those three an inch, they’d take a mile. And if they’d mentioned Lacy Allen once, her name had come up a dozen times. But they were right, she was cute as a bug.

Humiliated, Lacy was absolutely humiliated. She didn’t have that much contact with Jake, surely not as much as she’d like to have. And here she was, standing in front of him, giving him his very own private wet T-shirt contest. What to do? She wanted to look at him, see his expression. Did he like what he saw? Maybe she should try to get the attention off of herself. Yea, that would be smart. “Too wet to work?” she asked timidly. Hell, she could relate. After fantasizing about the gorgeous man in front of her, her panties were still soaked and she hadn’t even gotten to enjoy what could have been a satisfying finish.

Jake stepped out to the edge of the overhang. “I’ll tell you one thing, I’m from here, grew up in Sabine Parish. And there’s one thing about this place, it can be hot as hell but a storm can come up in a heartbeat.” He stuck his hand out and cupped it, instantly his palm filled with water. “I left as soon as I got out of high school, went to Arizona where it hardly ever rains. But here, rain can come out of nowhere and before you know it, you’re all wet.”

One fateful night, by the grace of beer and peanuts, Morgan Kirkbride--the self-professed super fangirl of Silver Soul-- falls for the sexy rock god, Nick D. Literally.

Lands on her ass right in front of him.

**Excerpt*****

I took the offered hand and nearly swooned. Swooned. Who the hell swoons? I stood up and followed him through the mostly empty club as the staff was sweeping and pushing tables around. He didn’t let go of my hand as we wound thro
ugh the tables to the door stage right.
This time, the little bitch in my head slapped me. I was being led backstage by the man I had a severe fangirl crush on, and we were going out for food and a chat. I almost dropped my cider at the realization. I was walking backstage with Nick D. I realized I had an obligation to women everywhere at that moment–and I fulfilled it.
I dropped my eyes and I gazed upon the most gorgeous denim-clad backside I had ever seen. He walked just enough to press those firm globes into the denim and release them a moment later with the next stride. The cloth hugged him, and it was one of the most delicious sights I’d ever seen in my life. Squeezable Tush. I wondered if I could bottle it.
“Enjoying the view?” he asked.
My eyes shot up to his, where he was peeking over his shoulder at me about to push the door open. Fire rushed into my cheeks. Let’s see, I had proved I was graceless, easily flustered, worked at a BDSM club, and had absolutely no stealth to even grab a glimpse of the World’s Most Fantastic Backside. I’d probably dump the soup down the front of my shirt.
His eyes sparkled mischievously, though, as he looked at me. I took a chance. “Hmm. It could be a little better. Could you just turn to the right a little?” He laughed, and obliged me.
Oh, it was a perfect ass.

- EXCERPT -
Connor leaned against the window frame with his arms crossed as he watched the waves crashing against the rocks. In front of him, as wide as the horizon, was the ocean. With the clouds drifting in from the sea, the sky had turned grey and dark, and he knew there’d be even more rain coming later in the day.

He would’ve enjoyed the scene if it hadn’t reminded him of his changing life. He’d been back in Fermosa Bay for two days already, but the memories of the first seven years of his life he’d spent in this small Australian coastal town were tucked away in the back of his mind. Seemingly inaccessible. Nowadays, his life was in London and had been for the last twenty-three years. He took a couple of deep breaths as he looked towards the harbour in the distance, and the small town in the alcove with the hilly forest in the background where he’d spend the first seven years of his life. It was truly one very picturesque little place.

A noise from the other end of the house hauled him back from his thoughts, and he stepped away from the window. Over the last few weeks, since he’d decided to accept Jack’s invitation to Australia, he’d had visions of what he’d find here. His mother hadn’t told him much about the time she’d lived here, except about Jack owning a pub. Connor had been furious for her lack of memory, but in the end admitted to himself it’d probably not been a time she’d like to remember.

So he was surprised to find out that Jack lived in this massive house just outside Fermosa Bay, on the top of the cliffs, with a view over the ocean. The house had five rooms and a small study at the back. The lounge room, with a high pitched ceiling, had wood fire heating and a big window front. Connor had loved the house the instant he’d stepped into it.

When he entered the hall, he saw his father and said, “Good morning, Jack.”

The old man sighed sadly. “You still can’t bring it over your heart to call me Dad?”

Connor’s gaze wandered from his father to all the many framed photos along the wall. Jack was in many of the photos, but most them had people in them he didn’t know, except the biggest one, which showed Connor as a child in Jack’s arms. A wave of sadness shook him. No, it wasn’t in him to call him Dad. Or to even think of him as his dad.

After a moment’s silence, he turned to his father and shook his head. “Sorry.”

Jack coughed, and Connor quickly rushed to his side, holding him upright.

“Another bad day?” Connor asked.

“Son, there will be no more good days. One day is like the other, until it will be the last.”

The words struck Connor deep enough to feel some emotions for his father. He knew time was running out, but hearing it made it sound final.

“There’s a front coming, but I think you’d be able to sit outside for a little while. At least until the nurse comes.”

Jack simply nodded.

Connor helped his father out onto the deck where the old man sat down on his swing seat.

“Thanks, Son.”

Without a reply, Connor stepped away and watched the sea again.

“I couldn’t keep you away from the water when you were a child,” Jack said.

“What do you mean?” Connor asked.

Jack didn’t answer, so he turned around to look at his father. The old man stared into the distance, a withdrawn expression on his face.

“You were constantly in the water. Whatever opportunity you had, you grabbed your little board and spent most of the day there.”

“So what happened?”

His father shrugged. “You left with your mother.”

Sitting down on the chair next to Jack, Connor let out a long breath. “Something must’ve happened. I never go near water, let alone go in it.”

Still gazing into the distance, Jack said, “I still have the blue board. Ethan’s little son sometimes uses it nowadays.”

Not sure where the conversation was heading, Connor just went along. “Who’s Ethan?” he asked.

The reaction from his father wasn’t what he expected. With his shoulders sagged, Jack closed his eyes. He looked so old and frail. From what Connor saw in all the photos around the house, cancer had taken a lot of life out of his father, leaving behind a haggard body with no energy left. Initially, he’d been taken aback by their similarities in looks, with their dark brown eyes and dark blond hair, including the stubborn curl above the ears, but after all, Jack was his father.

“Ethan was your best friend when you lived here.”

Pain shot through Connor as he was again confronted with a piece of information about his past that he knew nothing about. What had happened all those years ago, that his memory blocked these recollections of his childhood?

“How is your mother?” Jack asked suddenly.

Was it a sign of his illness that the old man wasn’t able to hold on to one topic anymore, or was he out to annoy Connor?

“She’s doing well.”

“Married?”

“Yes.”

Jack nodded. “She was beautiful when she lived here. So beautiful.”

Leaning forward to rest his arms on his knees, Connor asked, “Why did you ask her to leave?”

Finally, their eyes locked, and his father’s confusion took Connor aback.

“Son, what are you talking about?”

What reviewers are saying about ECHOES OF THE PAST:

I received this book as an ARC - and absolutely loved it!!!!
It is sweet and gentle yet filled with very strong emotions book, which will make you ponder upon the fate and decisions of the characters long after you finish reading :)

It will appeal not only to the true romance-loving readers, but also to those who, like me, reach for that genre occasionally, when in need of a read that would touch their hearts :D And this is it!!!
I honestly do not remember last time I've read something so gentle, so dear - yet tugging on all the inner feelings strings with quite a strength!
- Amazon Reviewer

Who said you can’t find your soul mate at seven years old?

For Emily, who lived her whole life in the sleepy Fermosa Bay Australia she always knew that Connor was the one. At seven years old, the whole town had them married off living a quiet happy life. But when an innocent accident happens, Connor’s mother takes the opportunity to whisk her son away to a life that offers more.

Growing up in London in the shadow of his step father, Connor becomes a successful and sought after lawyer with the world at his feet. When his biological father tracks him down, a father he has no memory of and asks him to return home to Australia, Connor can’t say no. Especially to his dying father.

This is a beautiful tale of rediscovering what you already had and what really matters. Reconnecting with old friends and old loves opens Connor’s heart to a world he never anticipated. Iris had me in tears with this sweet story of coming home. Congratulations. A must read for anyone with a romantic heart!

Shadow in Glass by J. Rose Alexander...

Every little girl dreams of waking up a Princess…
…the reality, Carrie finds out, isn't exactly a fairy tale.

Carrie Whitmore, aspiring journalist, wakes up after a building collapse to find herself in a world where she is a spoiled, bratty princess engaged to a self-indulgent egomaniac. She has no college education and no friends at all. Carrie finds out that "she" wants nothing to do with the crown after the death of her brother and is happy being bitter, cruel and reclusive.

But that's the old Princess Barbara, lost in the tragic accident that slipped Carrie into the Princess's life. Carrie must change the way the people of the Nation perceive her. Her journey to learn who she is in this new world and to deal with the twists and turns of her unwillingly adopted life will change her perception of everything and everyone around her.

And maybe, just maybe, she'll get the fairy tale princess ending every little girl dreams of.

“Let’s go see what this Drunk Risk is all about.”
Carrie grabbed her beer off the counter and walked to the table where Emma was helping Terry, Jason and Fernando set up the game. They were already hurling insults at each other even as they were sortin
g the pieces out. There were little army men, cannons and mounted cavalry, as well as two different kinds of die, cards and the board. Emma had taken the little red figures just as Carrie would have guessed.
“You’ve played before?” Fernando asked. “Or do we have to explain this to you?”
“I was playing this game before you were out of diapers.” Emma smiled.
“Oh, she’s already throwing down,” Terry said. “This is gonna be good. I just want to warn you, girlie, we’ve been at this all summer.”
The smirk on Emma’s face told Carrie there was something serious tipped in her favor. Emma looked at Terry. “Just watch yourself, maggot.”
“You think you can take me down?” Terry asked.
“While you were out getting laid, I was out laying mines,” Emma offered.
“Oh, it’s on,” Jason said. He made a dramatic gesture and handed Emma the red pair of die. “Strict standard French rules, plus drinking rules—no less than one beer for every half an hour. We play tonight until someone wins or we call a draw. Ladies first.”
“Go ahead, roll,” Emma said.
“Zing!” Fernando laughed.
Carrie looked at all the little pieces. “How long does this game last?”
“It can go for days,” Jason admitted.
“Days?” Carrie asked, pulling up a chair between Emma and Jason. “And you plan on drinking during the game?”
“Trust us,” Fernando said. “Without the booze, this isn’t half as much fun.”
Sierra quickly lost interest in the game. Her girlfriend finally showed up, nearly an hour later than promised, Carrie noted, and the two of them wandered off. Carrie knew Ava really didn’t want to hang with them anyway. It wasn’t that Carrie cared that Sierra was dating a woman, it was that she didn’t care much for the woman herself. She knew the whole thing was very difficult for Sierra, so she didn’t say anything.
It took Carrie nearly half an hour to catch on what was going on with the game. The first ten minutes seemed like total chaos to her. She actually yelled at them to tell her what the hell was going on. Each move Jason made, he explained what he was doing. One of the other three usually had a comment of some sort for his explanation.
“My goal,” he put a little green man on the board, “is to make sure I have enough armies in my territories so that if Emma should attack me, I can withstand the attack.”
“You couldn’t withstand a stiff breeze.” Terry grabbed the die. He added a little blue man to one of his territories near Emma’s red men. Emma threw insults out as fast as the rest of them, and it was clear she knew what she was doing on the board.
Carrie looked up and saw Tony was still sitting at the other table, drinking another beer. There were a few more people at the table now, and they were having a good time. Carrie sighed. She really should be with him there, but this table, and their beer and war, was much more fun at the moment.
Fernando’s girlfriend, Rhonda, stood up, startling everyone at the table. “I’m tired of this game. You guys have been playing this for months, and I’m bored.”
Fernando looked at her and then back at the board, back at her and back at the board. “But…but, Ronni, we’re in the middle of a game and I just got another beer and…”
“Ugh, whatever, Nando,” she said, disgusted. She marched away from the table.
“You should go after her, man,” Terry said.
“Dude, I do not because you’re going to screw with my armies.”
Jason laughed, and leaned over to Carrie. “Ronni does this every single Friday night. She gets all huffy. She gets up, walks away, and then everything is fine. But the first few times, Nando got up and chased after her.”
“Never leave your army undefended when dealing with drunk college students,” Fernando counseled. “They will steal your infantry and hide them around the bar. Ha, ha.” Fernando changed his train of thought, grabbing one of Terry’s armies. “You suck.”
“Only Maryann would know,” Terry answered. Maryann’s eyes grew wide, and she looked indignant. “Nothing is sacred, love. Sorry.”

Forever At Midnight by Isobelle Cate...

***BLURB******
When Roarke catches a glimpse of Deanna in Dac Valerian’s club, he searches for her in the streets of Manchester just to prove that he hasn’t lost his mind. He is unable to believe Deanna is alive when he’d buried her himself nearly five hundred years before. But when Deanna turns up on the street facing the Cynn Cruor’s headquarters, Roarke needs to know why she’s hid herself from him all these years.

Knowing her secret can only destroy whatever feelings Roarke has left for her, Deanna remains silent until circumstances force her to reveal everything.
Hearts are broken on both sides, but Roarke and Deanna have to work together if they are to find a way of ending Dac and the Scatha Cruor’s power once and for all.

Desire rises and passions are rekindled.
Will their pursuit of Dac lead to another chance at happiness?
Or will it forever tear them apart?

EXCERPT

For the next seventy-two hours, everyone was hard at work. Deanna and Eirene hardly saw their men. Every waking hour was spent going over strategies and sparring. The Faesten had become a full-fledged barracks. It fell to Roarke and Finn to ma
ke sure everyone was ready. Colin used part of the Agora to lecture on recon and intel. Graeme had several men with computer skills back him up in the nerve centre, teaching them everything he knew about security. Zac had three willing volunteers to help him with the medical aspect of the mission. In the Faesten's blood bank were several machines which accurately measured drops of blood and placed them into vials that a warrior could carry into battle. Zac had his volunteers man the machines, supervising them until they knew their workings inside and out. With all of the vials for the warriors matched and accounted for, Zac and his group left for one of the sparring rooms to practice. Each group was also given an hour for target practice. Finn taught them how to use the state of the art weapons housed in the armoury, training them to snipe at five hundred yards.
As long as the warriors stayed out of the sun, they had enough energy to last them several days, but their human mates needed sleep. Those who had no partners left the Faesten to savour what Manchester's night life had to offer, coming back before the crack of dawn to prepare for more gruelling hours of training. Still, Deanna knew Roarke was beside her in the middle of the night, spooning or cuddling her to his side. He didn't make love to her, allowing her to sleep, but as her body clung to him and her hand involuntarily travelled down his muscled torso to fist his erect manhood, Roarke obligingly gave in to her unspoken need, sending them both to the pinnacles of bliss, their bodies fusing in surrender before floating back to a satisfied slumber.
Toward the end of the second day, Deanna’s arms were aching with the strain of using them to practice with the baton. Sweat trickled down her back and down her cleavage. Eirene had not only taught her how to use the weapons, she had been put through a round of exercises which stretched her limbs and taught her defensive postures should she be attacked from all sides. From Budokon to Kendo, Wu Shu to Taekwondo, Deanna went through all of the basics. Both she and Eirene had changed into exercise gear earlier, but it felt like she was in her swimsuit soaked after a dip in the pool. She couldn’t remember when she’d had this much exercise, but it felt good. She felt invigorated. Fatigue which would have seeped into her bones immediately after the gruelling training was a thing of the past. Roarke’s essence inside her made sure of that. Also, a sentiment she thought she’d never feel again blossomed in her heart.
Hope.
“Time out.” She gasped at Eirene, making the “T” sign with her hands.
“I couldn’t have said it better myself.” Eirene laughed through her laboured breathing. “You learn quickly.”
“I had to in order to survive,” she said with a wry grin. “Besides, it seems to help a lot if you’ve made love to a Cynn Cruor.”
Eirene giggled. “The easy absorption mode. I was surprised myself how quickly I learned from Finn, too.”
Deanna gave a wide smile. “Looks like we've been imbued with part of what makes them unique.”
They walked toward the bench where their towels, water bottles and mobile phones lay. She couldn’t remember the last time she was this relaxed among people. It was a welcome feeling. She flipped the top of her water bottle and took long drags from it. As she and Eirene sat down her phone rang. She smiled at the name displayed.
“Jenny!” she greeted warmly.
“Deanna! Help!”
“Jen?” Her smile faltering, Deanna sat up. Dread fell heavy in her gut. Automatically she gripped Eirene’s wrist. “What the hell’s going on?”
“They're destroying the place.” Jenny was sobbing.
“Jenny, calm down.” Deanna tried to remain calm herself, but the look in Eirene's face pumped her heart into overdrive. “Where's Phil?”
“I don't know.” Jenny continued to sob even as she whispered fiercely. Deanna could hear the hysterical screams of the women who were at the centre, which gave her an idea of the pandemonium happening at the Foundation. Her blood turned to ice when she heard a voice in the background she would rather forget.
“Jen,” she said and then with a little more force. “Jenny, listen to me. Where are you?”
“I'm on the floor behind the office door,” Jenny said. “Please Deanna—”
Then Deanna heard Jenny scream before a gun shot rang at close range. Deanna heard the phone fall. The call had not been disconnected.
“Jenny!”

SEXCERPT

As the elevator opened to the ground floor, he pressed the hold button before striding the few steps to the door and opened it, taking care that the sun didn't touch him. As the weak rays of the sun streamed through, he felt the gradual simme
r in his blood. Uncomfortable, but bearable.
The scent of ylang-ylang reached his senses before Deanna appeared. Roarke closed the door and backed her against the wall. He claimed her lips in a searing kiss which burned a trail down to his sex. Deanna opened up to him, her tongue twirling against his. He groaned as their tongues duelled, each wanting dominion over the other. His hand curled around her neck while his thumb rubbed against the sensitive spot behind her ear.
Deanna's moan sent his lust rampaging through his loins. His cock was harder than it had ever been. He rubbed it against her hip, wanting to bury himself inside her sweet warmth.
“Roarke.” Deanna gasped against his mouth. “Please….”
In a flash, Roarke pulled her inside the elevator. As the doors closed he punched in several numbers.
“That's a longer code.” Deanna observed.
He turned to her. “It’s the code to switch off the camera feed.”
Deanna walked toward him. She opened her coat. His breath hissed through his teeth. She wore a simple wraparound dress of dark blue which cinched her waist and pushed her luscious breasts up. He pulled her against his body and devoured her lips before trailing open mouth kisses down the elegant length of her throat. When he reached the base, where her pulse beat erratically, he licked it, eliciting a sigh from her before he sucked on the tender flesh.
Hard.
Deanna held on to him, her head angled so he could suck more. She whimpered and begged him to continue. Through her skin, Roarke drew a little of her blood. His body rejoiced. His cock strained against his jeans.
Deanna was still his mate. The sweet drop invigorated his senses. He felt more strength literally flowing through his sinews. But there it was. He also tasted something metallic and bitter. No one had to tell him it was the Scatha's taint. Inside his body, Deanna's essence mixed with his own. The combination of their blood was stronger than Dac's contamination. He clenched his jaw at the stab of pain in his system, and then it was gone. His body had battled the taint.
He licked at the spot and felt Deanna shudder against him. She faced him, her eyes aglow with desire. She shrugged out of her coat and parted the bodice of her dress, taking her breast out of her lace bra. Without preamble, Roarke latched on to her tit, kneading the breast as he sucked and nipped at the aroused bud. When he lifted his mouth, she moaned, until she realized he was moving to give the jealous twin equal attention. In appreciation, Deanna cupped his erection before quickly unbuttoning his waistband and unzipping him. Roarke backed her to the corner of the elevator and lifted her. Deanna's dress parted to show her black lace-edged stockings held by a lace garter belt over a lace thong.
“My lady,” he rasped. “This will have to be quick.”
“Yes, Roarke,” she said huskily, nipping at his neck. “Quick, hard, and rough.”
Deanna pulled her thong aside for him. Her sex was glistening and wet. The scent of her arousal enticed him even as it mixed with his own. In one thrust he was inside her. They both groaned in ecstasy.
He was mindless with lust as Deanna's sheath clung to his cock. He rode her as she bade him. Quick, hard, and fast. The sound of his cock pistoning in and out of her and the sweet slickness of her fluids coating him drove him wild. His cock thickened with each thrust. By the gods, he loved how his shaft felt as it deliciously scraped against the muscles of her sex. Deanna's pants and moans became the fuel which propelled him on—harder and harder—until her cries became louder and she fell apart in his arms. With every twitch of her sex against him, he followed her, the guttural cry of his orgasm lost against the softness of her neck.
Their laboured breathing and the hum of their afterglow filled the elevator. Reluctantly, Roarke removed his cock from her wet heat. Kneeling down, he kissed her, pleasuring her until she came again.
Half an hour later, they walked into the foyer, meticulously dressed.
