Cover Reveal: Dirty Bad Secrets by Jade West...

Title: Dirty Bad Secrets
Author: Jade West
Genre: Erotic

It’s been three years since I set foot in Club Explicit, and three long years since I set eyes on Andy Morgan.
He doesn’t want me here, doesn’t want to know me, doesn’t want to even hear my name.
But I’m back on his doorstep, in his office, in his life… with a suitcase full of dirty bad secrets.

Faye Devere is out to claim her old life back. Three years in Italy have come at a heavy price, and she’s running back to the only anchor she has left: her fifty-fifty share of Club Explicit, and the man she left to pick up her pieces.
But Andy Morgan’s long over it. Long over her.
Club Explicit is his baby now. His club, his rules, his way.
Andy’s not a man who shares easily. And certainly not with the woman who upped and left without so much as a goodbye.

When your battlefield is London’s horniest playground, and sex is the sole weapon left in your arsenal, it’s only a matter of time before the fight gets dirty… and the secrets get dirty bad.

WARNING: As is always the case with Jade West novels, please proceed with caution. The book contains hardcore BDSM and sexual practices that may offend some readers. Please use your own discretion. Most definitely 18+ only.

Jade West is a contemporary erotic author, real life submissive, and former sex chat-line operator, who is plenty used to getting people all steamed up with her dirty mouth. Her debut release, Dirty Bad Wrong, smashed into the Amazon top 100 in February 2015, followed by Dirty Bad Savage in June - an Amazon top 100 bestseller in 4 countries. Dirty Bad Strangers topped the erotica chart, reaching an impressive 13 overall in the US Kindle Store, and the latest tale of debauchery, Dirty Bad Secrets - returning to the heart of Club Explicit - releases November 2015.

Firebird by Jennifer Loring...

From Horror to Romance
By Jennifer Loring

Most people, if they know me at all, are familiar with my work as a horror writer, particularly my short fiction. My first horror story was published when I was 21, and over the next 18 years, I had another three dozen short stories, a novella, and a novel published within horror’s various subgenres.
So how did I end up writing a sexy contemporary romance?
The sexy part is easy—I got my start in erotic horror, and I still write it from time to time. (One of my most well received stories includes a grotesque zombie sex scene that I’m still very proud of). People are often willing to risk everything for the one they love, so there’s plenty of conflict and dramatic potential inherent in writing about relationships. Horror and romance are the two genres centered on emotion, and my work tends to have a romantic undercurrent no matter the genre or theme. Taking all of that into consideration, I honestly didn’t find it to be much of a stretch.
Love, or what is perceived as such, can also lead to behaviors like obsession, stalking, and so on. There is an entire subgenre called “dark romance” that features horrific situations such as kidnapping, captivity, enslavement—themes frequently found in horror but with a “forbidden romance” twist. And there’s the ever-popular paranormal romance, which takes some of horror’s most common tropes and explores what happens when a vampire, werewolf, or ghost, among others, falls in love.
Firebird, my latest novel and my first romance, adheres to genre conventions but does get quite dark at times. It touches variously on obsession, child abuse, mental illness, and substance abuse. The hero loses everything that matters to him, a fear I think most of us share, and is forced into a Nietzschean battle with the darkness inside him to succumb to it or overcome it. Doesn’t sound too different from a horror novel, does it?
Horror and romance are more intimately entwined than many people realize. So if you tend to dismiss one because you’re a fan of the other, my advice is to give it a shot. These two genres together, because they portray our most passionately felt emotions—fear and love—paint a vivid picture of what it means to be human.

Excerpt

She felt his eyes scan her from head to toe more than once before he closed the distance between them and trapped her between the wall and his arms resting on either side of her shoulders. She couldn’t move if she wanted to; not with her heart pounding furiously to make her stay and kiss him until he stopped his shenanigans. “I’ve got all I want right here,” he whispered against her neck. Gwen’s stomach flipped and her throat immediately dried. Those words sounded like honey on her tortured soul, but she couldn’t accept them. “You’re drunk,” she shot back, equally hushed. She moved to escape his clutch, but he pressed her against the wall with his body. “Maybe a little, but maybe I’m just drunk enough to demand you stop teasing me,” he replied, moving her hair behind her shoulder and toying with the dress strap. He rolled it between his fingers and lowered his eyes to her dress. “You come to a party you’re not invited to wearing a dress that makes every male head turn.” He slipped her strap down and gently caressed her bare shoulder. Chills spread over her skin the more he touched her. “And then you want to leave right after I see you?” he finished, pushing the opposite dress strap off. “That’s not very fair,” he complained, leaning down and catching the tip of her ear between his teeth. If it weren’t for the other partygoers, Gwen was certain Jeremy would take her in that very hallway. She saw the longing in his brown depths and knew hers mirrored the exact same. “You know we can’t,” she murmured against his lips. Jeremy cradled her face in his hands and nuzzled her nose with his before tilting her head up. “Then why does it feel so right when we do?” he argued as he lightly nibbled on her lower lip. His reasoning made sense to her hazed thoughts. The way he coerced her lips with his only intensified her resolve to not let anything or anyone get between them. Deciding one kiss wouldn’t hurt anything, Gwen met Jeremy’s lips with exuberance. His reaction took her breath away when he eagerly slipped his tongue into her mouth to tangle with hers. He tasted like beer laced with vodka and a hint of peppermint, but to her, he still tasted like perfection. The beat of the rock song playing over the amplifier only deepened the pressure in Gwen’s body. Thankful for the crowd-reducing noise, Gwen pulled Jeremy closer yet, until he was skin to skin with her.

Excerpt:

Jagged rocks aligned along the coastline. The moist, salty air was refreshing as the tide slowly rose on the Fundy Shore. It was good to be home again, Teegan thought as she sat on a fallen tree trunk and tried to capture the beauty of the scenery with her sketchpad.

She hadn’t been there in years, and the view was still just as breathtaking as she remembered. This secluded patch of beach had once belonged to Liam’s family, and she wondered if it still did. Seeing Liam again had brought so much back to her, and she just needed a place to unwind. Some of her most precious memories belonged right where she was now, so this seemed like a good place.

Smiling, she turned up her iPod and sang along with Shinedown’s “Breaking Inside,” relating to the lyrics. As she sang, she imagined a boy and his father fishing right where she sat. Liam! Why can’t I seem to let you go?

She almost fell off the log into the water as large arms wrapped around her. They pulled her close, and Liam’s heat enveloped her senses. He was the one man in the entire world who could make her weak in the knees just by being in close proximity to her. The one man she was trying to avoid because she was too afraid of her emotions.
Oh Lord, he smells so good. Get it together, Teeg. You don’t even know him anymore.

“Liam?” She sounded breathless and winced as she pulled out of his embrace and turned away. She could not let him see how he affected her, could not risk losing her heart again. It hurt too much. “Hasn’t anyone ever told you not to sneak up on someone like that? Geez, you just about gave me a heart attack, not to mention an unwanted swim.”

Placing a hand to her heart, she turned to face him again, only to have the urge to smother his smile with her lips. He was beautiful, and she missed the taste of him.

“It’s good to see you too.” He chuckled. “And there is no way I would have let you fall in. Hasn’t anyone ever told you this is private property?” She could tell by the glint in his eye he was only teasing, and she hated how easily he could make her smile. As if she were eighteen all over again.

“Yeah, but you see, I used to know one of the owners of said property very well. I have many fond memories of this place, and I just had to see if it was as remarkable as I remembered it.”

“Well, is it?” His face turned serious as he closed the distance between them.

With his closeness distracting her, she whispered, “Is it what?”

Before she knew it, he was lowering his head, and her breathing turned rapid. Be careful what you wish for. His breath warmed her cheek, and all she could think about was the taste of his soft, plump, and delectable lips.
