Innocence by Holly Gill...

Thank you so much Jennifer for having my visiting you today. I’m delighted to introduce the 1st book in the Innocence series with Secret Cravings Publishing.  The series is a mainstream adult sweet romance the 1st in the kind to be written by myself as usually I write erotica. I loved the challenge with the series giving me the diversity to write something totally new.

Interview with Calvin Edwards in Innocence

Describe yourself what is your worst and best quality?  This depends on who you ask, if regard to my employees I try and maintain good atmosphere and I never tolerate any shape or form of bullying or harassment. I don’t take kindly to people who think they are greater than other. If you ask Kacey the question I think she would say I’m a good friend and have been there for her in her hours of need. My worst quality I have money and can have what the heck I want…within reason

What is the one thing you wish other people knew about you? I am approachable and I care more than people think.

What is your biggest secret something no one knows about? I have told a few lies to cover my own backside!

What are you most afraid of? Not being there for Kacey.

What do you want more than anything? To love someone who will love me back, without seeing the luxuries in my life.

What is your relationship status? Single and pretty much on the market

How would you describe your sense of fashion?  Fashionable, at least I try and stay in the latest trends. I do enjoy retail shopping.

How much of a rebel are you? I don’t see myself as a rebel even if I told a few lies to Kacey about going to prison, well I got desperate to get her of the bridge. There was no-way I would live with myself if anything had happened, to her and the unborn.

What do you consider to be your greatest achievement? Running my father’s real estate company. I have worked my backside of to gain the qualifications I needed and to prove to my father I was capable of helping him run the company. I always say if you want something hard enough you can achieve it. Then of course I have to mention coaxing Kacey of the bridge and saving her and her daughter’s life was a bigger achievement.
Do you think she would have jumped? The frame of mind she had been in at the time, anything had been possible. She was at rock bottom and needed someone to listen and guide her through her troubled times, just typical it had been me to discover her. But now I feel blessed to have had our paths met.
Do you think you and Kacey will get together? I have no idea. I like her. I like her a lot, but we have so many issues we need to untangle and get through before we could even consider walking down that road.

What is your idea of happiness?  Being loved, cared for having someone in my life for my heart and soul, a woman to be my best friend as well as my lover, and have many munchkins running around my ankles.

What is your current state of mind? Mixed up, I have no idea which direction to head, as either way it would be the wrong way.

What is your most marked characteristic? Loyal!

What is it that you, most dislike? Drugs. Cowards and physical and mental abuse.

Which living person do you, most despise? Despise if a harsh word, but if I was to name one person, I’m sorry but I cannot and will not forgive Rosalind Kacey’s mum for not being there when her daughter most needed her. To try and force something on her all to save the family name, she should be ashamed of herself, let alone the other issues I have with her, but please don’t make me go there, I already feel my blood boiling.

What is your greatest regret? My biggest regret, oh did you have to ask me that? Seriously read Innocence I think you will find out. I know I should have done things different, but through my selfishness, I didn’t and now…well now my heart kills.

Which living person do you most admire? Kacey, because she has despite what she has been through, come out to be the most precious, strong person I have ever met. What Kacey has been through sends my stomach summersaulting, and like she often says ‘I have seen the real world’.
Do you see you and Kacey getting together? I have no idea, and not sure how to answer that, we need to overcome all the issues first before anything like a relationships can generate between us.

What is your motto?  Never make promises you cannot keep, unless you are prepared see them through.

Excerpt Calvin Edwards

“What the heck has she been telling you? Honestly, that girl wouldn’t know the word truth if it hit her in the face. She is after money, no doubt to take back to her drug dealing boyfriend.”
Calvin stepped forward needing to correct the evil woman. “She finished it, and she isn’t with him. Instead, she is scared and looking for someone to love her, but clearly the word ‘love’ means nothing to you. What mother,” he said, marching forward pointing his finger in her face, “would allow their daughter at her most vulnerable state to walk the streets, how can you not care? No shame? She is frightened and yet, she is the one holding the grudge with you…yet you have turned it onto her. She is broken, has no one and nowhere to go and yet you…you…” He gritted his teeth.
“Calvin,” he heard his mother’s voice from behind as she touched his left shoulder. “Step back.”
“No,” he growled. “She,” he said, pointing to Rosalind, “what she has done. I saved your daughter. I,” he said, thumping his chest, “I stopped your daughter from jumping off the bridge. I saved her. I was the one who coaxed her down,” he screamed.
Tears ran down his cheeks and could feel his mum holding onto his shoulder for comfort. He had to do it. He had to make her see how weak her daughter was and her mental state.
Rosalind widened her eyes, glaring at him.
“Yes, I saved her, I stopped her,” he said lowering his voice in heartache. “All she needed was someone to reach out to and help her take care of herself. She has nothing…nothing. You imagine feeling that lonely,” he said, glaring deep into her eyes through the tears.
“I have spent a few days listening to your daughter, trying to help her, guide her, get her the help she needs, but as my good friend keeps telling me! She isn’t my problem, but I have made her my problem. I want to help her, and no, it’s not just because she’s expecting your grandchild,” he snarled. Calvin didn’t want anyone assuming that, but they would, of course they would, and he’d be the first to admit when he saw her bump, he had to do what he could to get her down from the bridge.
“Calvin,” his mum muttered.
“No, Mum,” he said, turning his head to glare at her. He watched his mum gulp. “Even you would admit you were fooled into the real reason why she left the village.” He turned his head back to meet Rosalind’s eyes. “Weren’t we?”
Rosalind still looked gormless, frowning like she had no idea what he was talking about.
“Don’t you care your daughter was about to jump into the river and take her and the baby’s life?” he sneered.
She stared at him, shocked, like she had no idea what was going on with her daughter, puzzlement across her face and her eyes roamed all over the room, like the walls would give her answers.
“I’m sorry.”
He shuddered.
“Sorry! Is that all you can say. Sorry,” his voice rose. “Well, you're saying it to the wrong person, but then why would you wish to waste your breath on your daughter, when she is the one who has disgraced you. I mean heaven forbid she would turn out to be the little angel you had wished for, but noooo, she had to get herself knocked up, didn’t she?” he roared.

1.      How long have you been an author?
I've been writing for the last ten years but officially became a published author in 2011.  I had been writing in some form or another since childhood but didn't actually decide to put pen to paper until after I'd graduated from college and had given some serious thought what I would consider to be my dream.  A natural-born storyteller and a hopeless romantic, I realized that I needed to combine my passions and my doing so has been the best decision I've ever made.

2.      What is your favourite genre?
I enjoy reading all subgenres of romance but my favorite to write in is romantic suspense.  I love the plot twists and the constant threat of danger in a suspense novel, which can bring a reluctant hero and heroine together and force them to face an attraction they might otherwise never have acknowledged.  Many of these stories are set in the present day and I love to see contemporary romances unfold, proving that love, passion and romance are still burning as strongly as ever in our world today.

3.      If someone hasn't read any of your work, what book would you recommend they start with and why?
Dangerous Secret is book # 1 of my debut romantic suspense series, The Pinnacles of Power.  Though these stories were not published in order and need not be read sequentially to be enjoyed, I would recommend that readers begin with DS as it tells the story of underground operation Project Gemstone and how it affects the lives of 5 would-be couples from the very beginning.  I have reread the series myself starting with DS and I enjoy seeing how all of the stories connect with one another, building in suspense and intensity a little bit more with each romantic tale.

4.      What is the biggest surprise you’ve discovered about the writing process?
Everyone says that when writing a romance the author needs to fall in love with her hero in order to make her readers do the same.  I had always believed this to be true but I was skeptical to think that I could continue to fall time and time again, especially after crafting the first few stories I'd wanted to write, the ones containing heroes I'd dreamed about for years and considered to be the cream of my crop.  As I wrote on, I was surprised to discover that I was more than capable of falling for newly-created heroes and that putting myself in the heroine's shoes and falling for her man each time was essentially something that I had no trouble doing at all.  As a matter of face it just seems to keep getting better!

5.      Can you tell us about one of your current works in progress?
I'm currently working on a second 5-book romantic suspense series, set in and around a majestic theater in upstate New York.  Two rival families battle for control in this competitive artistic industry and 5 unlikely couples are drawn together in the midst of the drama and the heat, causing them to create quite a bit of heat of their own.  I believe that all fans of romance, particularly those who enjoyed the Phantom of the Opera will really enjoy this fast-paced, romantic suspense series.

6.      Name one thing readers would be surprised to know about you.
I drafted my first romance novel never having read a romance.  (Yes, you are reading that correctly!)  Crazily enough I believed I knew enough about romance and had a strong enough love for the phenomenon that I could write on my own without an example.  I quickly saw the error of my ways and having read hundreds of romances since then I am forever grateful for deciding to take the plunge in reading stories of the greatest genre I've ever known.

7.      Name your top three writing goals?
            1. To author as many great stories as I can in my lifetime.
            2. To show that romance is (and most certainly should be!) burning as hotly as ever in the present day.
            3. To inspire readers to create their own fantasies in the hopes that they will bring romance into, and always have, love and romance in their lives.

Fun Questions -
1.      If you had a warning label, what would it say?
"Caution, Writer at Work!"  I do not write all day, every day, by any means but I do try to write at least a few hours every day.  If I don't get some time to decompress and let my fantasies unwind I never feel quite as good about any given day, vacation time being the rare exception.

2.      If you had the chance to meet one of your characters privately, who would it be and what would you do?
My favorite character to date would is the hero of my second story, Dangerous Proposal, Dr. Alec Westwood.  Alec is suave, seductive and funny to the point that I still laugh out loud when I go back and reread pieces of his dialogue.  If I could meet Alec, I'd love it if we could kayak together as he does with heroine Lena Benson when he is trying to gather information about her agenda.  And if we should decide to stop for a rest and wind up making out for a bit, I'd definitely be ok with that ;)

3.      What is the naughtiest thing you’ve ever done?
I once jumped into an unmarked lake which did not prohibit swimming.  Fortunately there weren't any sort of dangerous sea creatures around to share in the experience!  I guess that I had seen my characters do this enough times that I wanted to try it for myself.  I don't recommend it, not unless you do not have any sort of aversion to feeling a tremendous amount of seaweed at your feet.

4.      Finally, can you give us your contact links?

Excerpt from Dangerous Magic:

“Hello, Corinne,” Jack said in a deep, drawl voice. “It’s been a long time.”
Seven years to be exact. But standing beside Jack Madera, her once coworker and friend, Corinne felt as though she’d stepped back in time and into a dream. Come to think of it, all of it felt like a dream, particularly since she didn’t seem to be in control of her movements. But if she was dreaming, why did the fire’s flames feel so hot? And why was her pulse racing like the ticking of a clock?
Jack, whose face was sprinkled with dark facial hair that was only slightly thinner than the hair on his head, bore down on her. He smelled of incense and musk, a sweet and alluring mixture which, combined with the scent of the woods around them, was distinctly male. So lost in a mix of confusion and desire, Corinne didn’t even realize that this large fingers had closed over hers. Jack squeezed her hand and his smile widened as he lifted it, bringing it against his mouth. He kissed her palm, sending a powerful rush of need along her skin.
Corinne swallowed as she attempted to slip her hand free. But she was powerless to remove it, and it remained encased in Jack’s.
“How did I…”
Jack smiled and leaned in close, bringing his mouth against her ear. “Get here?” he whispered. “I might have helped you out a bit. But you simply did as your desires dictated.”

Code Name: Luminous by Natasza Waters...

Code Name: Luminous, the fourth book in the award winning series "A Warrior's Challenge"

Need a reason to sizzle other than the sun? Book Four of the hottest Navy SEAL series you'll read will set your senses to burn. If readers would like to get to know the men of Team One Alpha squad they can always pickup book one, Code Name: Ghost, the winner of best romantic suspense of 2014.
Code Name: Luminous
Book Trailer:

Tony Bale must stop a deadly virus before it’s launched on the United States, and resist an undeniable desire to take Lumin’s innocence. Mission success probability: slim.

Since their brief meeting, Lumin Edenridge can’t squelch her dreams of the handsome Navy SEAL who moved through her life like a shadow. By daylight he was gone, but the craving in his gaze left a mark. When she wakes up next to a dead scientist involving her in a terrorist plot, street smarts won’t help her survive. She needs Tony.
The stunning aerialist Tony left in Las Vegas lingers in his memory. A seven month deployment looms when he answers Lumin’s distress call. Defending her is his first priority. When terrorists turn her into a weapon, Lumin hides to protect him. His team name is Tinman, and he has twelve hours to rescue the woman who possesses his heart in “Code Name: Luminous”.

Book Viral says...Riveting and wholly engrossing, it takes a lot to stand out in this ever popular genre, but author Natasza Waters knows exactly how to deliver an outstanding read. Book #4 in the popular A Warrior's Challenge series, Code Name: Luminous is founded on pulsating action and a well-constructed plot with a notably observed balance between suspense and romantic tension, but its Natasza’s ability to create wonderfully endearing characters that quickly draws the reader to her pages. This reviewer could wax lyrical about Tony and Lumin, but in the final analysis they are simply superbly rendered, whilst their badinage is a delight to read. There’s a real connection here, but never at the sacrifice of a cracking tale. Unpredictable and immersive, Natasza creates a believable, and somewhat shadowy backdrop, against which events evolve, which is sure to engender broad appeal whilst paying crucial attention to detail.

From the author: Snippets of real life have been infused in this series. It's gritty and while suspense and romance abound, the characters are based on some of the people I've worked with in the Coast Guard over the last thirty years. For those who have enjoyed the series so far, there's three more books in the works. Code Name: Forever & Ever coming soon!
