Could this be the record for the worst name to give a child, Ayma Kuntz. Welcome to Ayma's world and the other Bayshore students as they contend with the drama, romance, and heat that fills their days.  Broken - Book One of the Assumption Series centers on Ayma and Colton. It follows them through the first half of their senior year in high school. A year when life should be exciting, fun and happy...but sadly, it isn’t always like that.
Ayma comes from wealthy divorced parents. Her mother has made her life a living hell from the time she was born and named. Her life has been planned and designed to make her a replica of her mother; a socialite living on Bay Shore. Ayma is trying to break that mold. She wants to be nothing like her mother, but really doesn’t know who or what she wants to be. She has her limited friends, but lots of nemeses, low on the social ladder, and a name that will haunt her forever.
Then along comes Colton, He’s who every girl wants or every guy wants to be like. Colton is the opposite of Ayma, he’s not rich, has a supportive family, tons of people who want to be his friend, but Colton feels he is damaged at best. He has a past, one that includes time in jail.
Ayma and Colton seem to balance each other out, they aren’t supposed to be together, they are complete opposites, yet the attraction is one they can’t fight for long... Will his past catch up and tear them apart or will they be able to pull through all the obstacles created to break them apart?
Broken is how both of them feel. Can they help each other fix the damaged pieces of their lives or will unforeseen circumstances keep their lives forever shattered?

BLURB: Barely Breathing
Love is supposed to conquer everything, but can it survive the tornado of lies and secrets that fill Colton and Ayma’s relationship. Will their passion be able to weather the storm that’s about to be unleashed? Colton and Ayma have never had an easy go in their love affair. They’ve dealt with an ex-girlfriend making a reappearance, Ayma’s mother involvement with Colton’s past, being forced apart, and now the threat of a new love interest, a possible pregnancy, a best friend’s illness, and the stress of trying to graduate high school are taking a toll on this tragic love story. Their family and friends think nothing will be able to break this couple apart, but are Ayma and Colton destined to be together forever or will the stress of trying to stay together be the breaking point for their relationship? Will the past be the end to their future together?

Questions:

1.      How long have you been an author?
I began writing a series, which I haven’t completed yet, back in the summer of 2009. My current books, the Assumption Series, I began writing in September of 2013.

2.      What is your favourite genre?
I don’t have particular genre that I have to read. If the storyline and characters capture my attention, then I’ll read the book regardless of what the genre is.

3.      If someone hasn't read any of your work, what book would you recommend they start with and why?
I would recommend starting with Broken. The Assumption Series books are not stand alone, as each one feeds of the preceding one.

4.      What is the biggest surprise you’ve discovered about the writing process?
The time that it takes to get the format and editing completed was the biggest surprise. There are so many rules and guidelines to follow, when one writes fiction, that is seems like it takes forever to get through all the mistakes that happen as I write the first initial copy. It isn’t a process of write it all down and throw it out on Amazon or such media, it takes time and careful editing to make sure that the possible best is made available for the readers.

5.      Can you tell us about one of your current works in progress?
One of my current works is the fourth and final book in the Assumption series. It doesn’t have a title as of yet, but the scene takes place five years from where Blinded by Betrayal ended. Since the other three books haven’t had the HEA that most readers want, maybe it’s time for Ayma and Colton to finally be happy. But you just never know what could happen, it all hasn’t been decided yet.
Other than that, I’m working on a series called ‘When Separate Worlds Collide’ and it will be a paranormal romance and also a series called ‘Abidance; which is a dystopian romance.

6.      Name one thing readers would be surprised to know about you.
Wow, one thing that y’all would be surprised about…I don’t know I’m not that exciting. I guess one thing I enjoyed doing was being a head coach for a youth football team. I guess people would be surprised since there aren’t too many female head football coaches.

7.      Name your top three writing goals?
Goal one would be completing all the series that I have started so far; hopefully within the next year.
Goal two is to have one of my books make it to the top 100 on Amazon. The top ten would be even better, but I’m not hard to please so I’d settle for 100.
Goal three is to have my books for sale in bookstores across the U.S. and abroad.

Fun Questions -

1.      If you had a warning label, what would it say?
****May bite if provoked****

2.      If you had the chance to meet one of your characters privately, who would it be and what would you do?
I guess I would want to meet Colton. He’s been created into someone that I find attractive. He’s gorgeous, athletic, thoughtful, someone that all the other women want, and he has a little bit of badness to him. What would we do…hmmm….I guess I’ll let the readers use their imagination on this one.

3.      What is the naughtiest thing you’ve ever done?
Ladies don’t reveal such secrets as that. But if you really want to know, I guess having sex on a bench in a public park hoping that no one would drive by…Hey, I was only twenty-one years old at the time.

4.      Finally, can you give us your contact links?

Broken Excerpt:

“Ayma! Ayma!"
Even in my sleep I heard my mother calling me. I hope she knows she just ruined a great dream. It’s not every day I can get the guys from One Direction to fight over me. Hey, a girl can dream, can't she?
Let me tell you a little about myself. My name is Ayma Kuntz. Go ahead, get it all out of your system. I’ve heard all of the comments before.
For those of you who don't get the innuendo of my name, my parents wanted to play a cruel joke on me or obviously didn't think this one through. My first name is Ayma (pronounced Ima) last name Kuntz; where the z is silent.  Don't know why the z is put there in the first place, it’s so lame. Anyway, you get the picture, right?
Flashback to first day of public middle school:
I begged my mother to let me go to the public school. I went to private school all through elementary and just didn't fit in with all those kids. I was so excited when she finally gave in. I went to my first class and the teacher asked me my name. Of course being from a highly prestigious elementary school we didn't use any kind of bad language or slang words. I proudly told her my name, Ayma Kuntz. Her eyes just about popped out of her head when I said that. The whole class burst into a laughing fit. This was so not how I wanted my first day of public school to be, so I took off running out the door. I didn't know where I was going, so I just stopped at the end of the hallway. A girl I didn't know, who is now my best friend, Tabby, came up to me to see if I was okay. She told me she was from the class I’d just left and did I know what everyone was laughing about. I shook my head no. I had no idea what they thought was so funny. So, Tabby went on to explain about the slang word for a girl's private part and how my name kinda sounds like 'I'm a cunt' when I say it.
Well, there went my whole existence at this school.

Barely Breathing Excerpt:

I was guessing any romantic escapade was sort of out of the question right now. I didn’t know why I wanted to, maybe it was all hormonal or something. I let out a deep sigh and sat down beside him. “I really don’t know what to do. I’m about as clueless in this as you are.” I didn’t know what else to say. I knew he was looking for answers and solutions, but I didn’t have any to offer. “Colton?” I looked over at him staring at the wall in front of us.
“Hmm,” he said without even a glance in my direction.
“Do you still love me?” My voice sounded like it was cracking or I could start crying at any moment.
There was hesitancy in his response. Finally, after what seemed like forever, he said, “Yeah, I do.” But why did I get the feeling there was something more going on?
“I think I’m going to go to bed.” He stood up and started toward the bedroom. “We have school tomorrow,” he said as he walked into the room and out of my sight.
I turned off the lights and made sure the front door was locked. I went into the bedroom where Colton was and saw that he was just lying in bed with the TV on. It really didn’t seem like he was even watching it.
I changed into my night clothes and crawled into bed beside him. I gently kissed him on the cheek and rolled back over to my side. There was no response on his part, except for a soft ‘good night.’
The night of dreaming was eventful. Let’s just say my excitement from the little make-out session Colton and I had in the living room carried over into my dreams. Somehow, Colton ended up turning into Bentley somewhere along the dream lines. Hey, I couldn’t help what I dreamed, right?
I knew I’d woken myself up from the excitement I was feeling or the way that the Bentley/Colton character in my dream was making me feel. I remembered I kept calling Bentley’s name every time he would touch or kiss me in my dream.
I looked over to Colton’s side of the bed. He wasn’t there. I heard a noise over by the dresser and saw him standing there.
“Hey, why are you over there?” I questioned, sounding still half asleep.
He held out my cell phone. “Who the fuck is Bentley and why were you calling his name in your sleep?”
Uh-oh…busted!
