An Interview with the Authors of the Paranormal Menage Romance Tour...

Why do you write PNR ménage romance?
Beverly:  It is a genre I enjoy reading and writing.  No one man is perfect!  Two or more should cover what I need!  In fact, I’m sure the perfect man SHOULD be superhuman.
Sascha:   I love the depth of the genre and the multitude of love that can be expressed by more than one partner.
Carolyn:  This is my first foray into ménage writing.  I’m a sucker for romance and enjoy writing about people falling in love.  I see this as one of the most romantic books I’ve ever written.  My philosophy is, if the love is genuine and true, the numbers don’t matter.
What is your favorite body part to describe? Can you list a few?
Sascha:  Her entire essence…but if I had to pick one, I’d say, her hips, fingers and lips…
Beverly: The skin, it can be soft and supple, hard-yet wet warm to the touch, rough with stubble, slick with sweat…
Carolyn:  Eyes.  It’s the first thing I notice about a person and the first thing I describe about a character.
How do you judge if it’s hot enough?
Carolyn:  If my test reader is too embarrassed to talk about it.  With this story, I had lunch with her the next day and she blushed every time she looked at me.
Sascha:  If I’m aroused while reading…
Beverly:  If the fan comes out and the clothes come off…
How hot is too hot?
Sascha: No such thing in my opinion.
Beverly:  Is there such a thing?
Carolyn: Hot has to be steamy, sexy, erotic and even romantic.  As long as the scene contains one or more of those elements, the sky’s the limit as far as I’m concerned.

Who is Your Favorite Vampire? New Releases & A Progeny Trilogy Giveaway with Ahlynne Laynne...

I’m beyond excited to be kicking off the Blood Reborn blog tour here at Labelle Books. This is one of my most favorite places to appear. I’ve also been here the most in the last two years. Today, I’m quite pleased to formally begin my promotion of the fourth book in the Progeny Series. When I had the dream about Ascher three years ago, I never thought that it would amount to anything. Once I started writing book one, I then told myself that I’d never finish it. So, you can imagine my surprise that I’m now writing the seventh book in this series. Blood Reborn is the continuing story of Ascher Rousseau and his eternal love, Shauna.

Today, as a gift for Jennifer’s followers, I’m offering an e-copy of The Progeny Trilogy, which includes books 1-3, to one commenter. All you need to do is leave a comment telling us who is your favorite literary vampire of all time. Please leave your answer and email for the giveaway. I hope you enjoy the exclusive excerpt. Have a great weekend and thanks for dropping by.

BLOOD REBORN (The Progeny Series #4)

“Hell hath no fury like a Wiccan reborn.”

Shauna McCutchin and Ascher Rousseau share a deep and passionate bond that merges their Wiccan and vampire worlds. Destined, they’ve endured trials and suffered unimaginable pain in their quest for a happily ever after.

Endowed with amazing supernatural abilities and the added attributes of her new vampire existence, Shauna is a force to rival all others—a dangerous new breed of vampire that defies conventional wisdom.

Darkness shrouds the couple’s pasts and enemies are determined to ruin their future. Will Shauna surrender to the evil side of her nature, or will she stand by Ascher’s side as the Rousseaus prepare for the revolution?

Shauna will either be an immortal miracle or an unholy menace.

Excerpt from Blood Reborn:

A house full of guests were gathered in the next room, but Ascher became too impassioned to stop. He swept her into his arms, walking them to the wall farthest from the living room. Wrapping his fingers around the pink cotton, he tore the panties from beneath her matching gown and murmured against the hollow of her throat, “We have people in the living room.”

Her hand swiped across the black double dresser, scattering crystal figurines and papers onto the floor, adding to the mess from her earlier rage. “Ash, I so don’t care right now.” She squeezed his dick through the jeans, her tongue slipping along the pale skin of his neck. “I won’t scream if you don’t. You can be quiet, can’t you?” She grazed the razor point of one fang across the two moles near his throat.

Her action caused his cock to jump in response. Grasping a handful of her hair to lift her gaze to his, he growled, “You know what that does to me.”

“I know exactly what it does to you. Question is, what are you going to do about it?”

Ascher tossed her on the dresser, spreading her legs to allow his fingers access to her clit. His thumb circling the swollen button, he moaned, “I’m going to take you right here on this dresser.”

“Good, because I can’t wait until tonight.” Her fingers undid the button-fly in his jeans, her hand freeing his hard on from its denim prison. She nipped at his bottom lip, drawing blood, and then sucked on the soft flesh until the sting travelled the length of his body, making his erection pain in her hand.

Ascher knotted his fingers into the loose hair at the crown of her head. “You keep that up and you’re going to get it.”

“You promise?” With a careless lash of her clawed digits, Shauna stripped the nightgown from her body. Her bare breasts sprang free, the velvety nipples pointed with excitement. Her stare grew serious and flashed a stormy gray. “Come and get me, Ascher.”

He pulled on the French braid in her head, running his fingers along the plait until loose ribbons of dark flowing locks spilled down her back and over her face. She looked so fucking sexy, and he used every ounce of his restraint to hold back the urge to screw her into exhaustion.

Seizing her face in his hands, he took her mouth, pulling her against him and pinning his shaft to her soaked folds. “You’re mine,” he growled, edging his hips forward to feel her. The heat of her sex taunted his cock, firing an inferno in his blood. “I can’t believe you’re finally mine.”

Her head fell back in submission. “Yes. Yours. I’ll always be yours, Ascher.” She breathed winded pants. “Now fuck me.”

One minute she was restrained beneath him, her body writhing and arching against him, begging for his dick. The next, she pushed him beneath her, taking matters into her own hands. “Lie back,” she demanded, sinking to her knees and pushing him back against the wall. “I have a surprise for you.”

“Shauna, there are people in the next—Ahhh, baby what are you doing?”

“Pleasuring you.” She caught him with the full force of her silvery gaze. “Do you want me to stop?”

He felt powerless to stop her. “No.” His hands gripped the edge of the dresser, his claws shredding the black lacquered finish. “Don’t stop.”

About Ashlynne Laynne/Q. Lane

Ashlynne Laynne/Q. Lane is a songwriter, poet and author of erotic paranormal and contemporary romance, who has always had a soft spot in her heart for vampires but grew tired of the garlic fearing, sun-loathing creatures of old. An avid horror movie fan, she tends to enjoy media and music that is of a younger, more eclectic nature. This was the catalyst for her writing The Progeny.

She loves writing on the edge—combining the erotica and romance genres—and thinks of Ascher and Shauna as the wicked, damned version of Romeo and Juliet. She is currently working on book six of her Progeny Series, book one of her upcoming Alterity Series, and several novella spin offs. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, reading and spending time with her family. She juggles the hats of wife, mother, full time employee and part-time writer, hoping to write exclusively one day soon. Find and follow her online on Twitter. Check out her Manic Readers page, Blog and Website, or leave a note in her Reader Email.

Fall of 2013, Ashlynne Laynne started her own publishing, Q-Rotic Press. The remainder of her Progeny Series and all future projects will release through this new entity.

She lives in North Carolina with her husband and son.

About The Progeny Series

At its core, The Progeny Series is simply about a man and woman who fall in love. The fact that he’s a half-blood (half-human, half vampire) and she’s a Wiccan human are secondary factors. When we meet Ascher, he’s grumpy. Frankly, who could blame him? He’s engaged to seal to Ursula—a cold and careless vampire who wants nothing more than to get her hands on a bloodstone— and he feels conflicted about his existence.

All of that changes when he meets Shawnette McCutchin. She’s beautiful, intriguing and possesses some of the most potent blood that he’s ever smelled. A war immediately begins inside Ascher. He craves Shauna’s blood just as much as he craves her body and the closer they get, the harder it is for him to control his urges. After Ascher calls off the sealing to Ursula, the trouble begins. His family’s peaceful period ends when Ursula’s army attacks the Rousseaus.

This series encompasses a family dynamic of which we’ve never seen. The Rousseaus share a common mortal and immortal bloodline, but loyalty is the thread binding this clan. Shauna and Ascher’s dissuaded love only strengthens the family bonds. Their unique union transcends bloodlines and completes the prophecy, defying the beliefs of centuries old covenants while shattering the wall between the Wiccan and vampire worlds that has existed for ages. This series is erotic paranormal romance intended for adults, as it contains adult sensuality, language and themes.

Are you a Harlequin Lover? Check Out This Interview with Author Jennifer Snow...

Title:
The Trouble With Mistletoe

Release date: November 1, 2013

Author: Jennifer Snow

Genre: Contemporary Romance

Blurb:

Questions:

1.      How long have you been an author? I started collecting rejection letters at sixteen, so I think it started around that timeJ But then life took me on several different paths after highschool, so it was when I was on maternity leave with my son three years ago that I started writing seriously again and succeeded in publishing my first novella.

2.      What is your favourite genre? I love contemporary romance, especially holiday themed titles.

3.      If someone hasn't read any of your work, what book would you recommend they start with and why? I would start with my holiday novella Mistletoe & Molly as it is a quick short, fun read that will introduce them to my style before starting the new Brookhollow series.  However, The Trouble With Mistletoe is the best example of my writing style and how it has changed over the last few years.

4.      What is the biggest surprise you’ve discovered about the writing process? How supportive other writers can be. I have met some wonderful people through conferences and on our Heartwarming Authors blog.

5.      Can you tell us about one of your current works in progress? I am currently writing book three in the Brookhollow series, which is Melody Myers’ story. Readers are introduced to her in the first two books and it was time for her own story. It is heartbreaking at times to write, but definitely one that I think will resonate with readers of the series.

6.      Name one thing readers would be surprised to know about you. I love the UFC-Mixed Martial Arts. I’m such a girl…until the pay per view fights come on lolJ

7.      Name your top three writing goals? Well, I hope to finish my Brookhollow series by the end of next year, and then move on to another series I’ve already outlined-so I guess that’s one. Number two would be to finish a screenplay submission that I am co-writing with my mom. And three-Ultimately, my biggest goal and dream would be to have one of my holiday titles turned into a Hallmark made for tv Christmas movieJ  Dream big, right?

Fun Questions -

1.      If you had a warning label, what would it say? I actually have a warning sticker on my truck that says-Caution-Harlequin writer on board, because I am a hazard on the road sometimes when my mind starts to wander to Brookhollow…

2.      If you had the chance to meet one of your characters privately, who would it be and what would you do? Luke from The Trouble With Mistletoe…and um…that’s private J

3.      What is the naughtiest thing you’ve ever done? I can’t put this here, but if readers want to email me privately, I’ll share itJ

The Mating Ritual with Tory Richards...

The Mating Ritual

Hi everyone! I’d like to thank Jennifer for letting me spend the day with you. In case you don’t know who I am my name is Tory Richards, and I’m a grandma who likes smut. I was born in Maine but have lived most of my life in Florida. After retiring from Disney my four cats and I moved in with my daughter and her family, where I spend my time between helping out with my grandchildren, and writing. I have the perfect life!

Question - Do you have to see it to believe it, or are you someone who has an open mind? I don’t know if it’s the writer in me, or if I’m just a little bit crazy, but I believe that anything is possible. Until someone proves Bigfoot isn’t roaming the mountains in the northeast, that there are no aliens and mermaids, I have to believe they could exist. There are a lot of places in our world that are still unexplored. I just read an interesting article recently about the lost world in Australia, a place so remote that it took a helicopter to drop scientists, and a film crew there. They discovered three new species, and plan to return, hoping to find more.

There are mysteries out there just waiting to be explored, found, and appreciated, too many strange happenings in the world to ignore. Don’t you think? With that thought in mind, I decided to try my hand at writing a new genre for me.

The Mating Ritual is my first paranormal romance, and comes out today at Smashwords and Amazon. Paranormal is a general term that designates experiences that lie outside the range of normal experiences or that indicates phenomena understood to be outside of science's current ability to explain or measure. Paranormal phenomena are distinct from certain hypothetical entities, supernatural and unexplained mysteries, including ghost stories and pictures, creatures and more.

The Mating Ritual

Blurb

On the run for her life, Toni finds safety with the mysterious Oh-Mah people living deep in the Carolina Mountains. Direct descendants from a legendary creature, they are more human than beast. With the exception of being big and tall, they no longer carry any of the original Bigfoot hairy, monstrous traits. Yet they prefer the simple, uncomplicated life their beastly ancestors lived. They remain far away from civilization, feeding the surrounding small, town locals with rare sightings that keep the myth alive.

Captured by their rugged leader, Cormac, Toni must undergo an ancient mating ritual in order not to be claimed and mated by any of the other males. Once Cormac mates with her in a public ceremony, she will be off limits to everyone but him, something Toni is grateful for. She gradually falls for the powerful leader, willingly giving in to his ravenous demands for sex. He vows to protect and love her, but can she give up her old life to live with him in the mountains?

Unedited excerpt

 “Woman, stop!” He growled.

She halted at his command and stared up at him, frightened. “Please let me go.”

He let go of her long hair and grabbed the fur from her body, wrapping it around his hips. His gaze fell to her barely concealed breasts, remaining there until Toni felt her nipples become hard. When Cormac’s gaze roamed down to the triangle covering her sex a flush of heat spread throughout her body, surprising her. She didn’t like the way his nostrils were suddenly flaring, and his eyes had turned almost black. Toni had slept with enough men to recognize that hungry look on his face.

All of a sudden the air around them crackled with an undercurrent of primal heat. It was palpable, and like nothing she’d ever experienced before. In spite of her precarious situation, there was something raw and basic about the man, and it was having a strong effect on her dormant libido. Of all the times to get horny! It was the wrong time and the wrong place. All wrong!

“Go.” He pushed her in the direction that led deeper into the cave.

Toni dug in her heels. “Wait a minute, what about me?” She pulled her arm from his grasp, swung around, and peered up at him. “I need something to cover up with too.”

Damn, she shouldn’t have brought attention to her undressed state. Once more his gaze roamed over her, seeming to strip off what little she had left on. She shivered, and not from the cold air in the cave. His lingering look moved like a caress over Toni, making her think about things that she shouldn’t be. What’s wrong with me? The only thing that should be on my mind is getting back to the cabin. Had she hit her head the night before, and this was some kind of odd side effect?

“Please, just let me go.” Sensing they were both curious about each other, Toni pushed the notion of what that could lead to right out of her head. “There are police, people, looking for me.” She wasn’t sure if she’d said that to scare him or to take his mind off her lack of clothing. “Do you know what the police are?”

Her strategy didn’t work. “Only mated females cover their bodies.”

“What?” For a moment Toni had forgotten what she’d asked him. Then his words registered, turning her blood cold. “But I’m not one of your females,” she said. “And where I come from everyone wears clothes.”

“Not last night.” He pushed her in the direction that he wanted her to go.

How was she going to explain last night? It soon became apparent that the flicker of light she’d seen earlier deeper in the cave was coming from the burning torches in the ground, which were spaced every few feet apart. As she unwillingly walked deeper and deeper into the cave she began hearing voices in the distance. She started to drag her feet, afraid of what she’d find at the other end.

“Please, let me go,” she pleaded with him again. “I’m telling you that there are people searching for me, dangerous people.” Maybe Cormac would release her if he thought his clan might be in jeopardy.

He continued to push her. “I will protect you.”

Toni stopped and turned, but he didn’t. As big as he was, when he hit her she went flying backwards with a gasp. She would have hit the wall had he not pulled her to him. All at once, she was aware that her breasts were flattened against his six-pack abs, but what frightened her most was his equally massive hard-on. As a new threat engulfed her, Toni began to struggle. His powerful hands seemed to be everywhere at once, as he easily subdued her.
