Sweet Cravings & A GIVEAWAY with Author Eva Lefoy...

#BBW is hot – but what about BBM?

Okay, so you’ve probably heard of the romance genre, Big Beautiful Woman or BBW. But what about BBM or Big Beautiful Man? Is anybody writing that?

I don’t know about you, but … the big muscly guys with the washboard stomachs on the book covers? They kind of don’t fit my vision of the perfect male. Sure, I like muscles. I like abs too. But the body type I like most in men can’t be summed up with a bodybuilder.

A few years ago I ran across an excellent resource about how to describe male body types by Val Kovalin at Obsidianbookshelf.com  I especially love the section on how to describe large male body types. Words such as:

Beefy

Big

Brawn

Bulky

Bullish

Burly

Husky

Sturdy

But I think Chiseled, Ripped and Robust and Rugged could also apply to a larger man. What do you think? Do you prefer Lean and Lithe?

In my book Sweet Cravings, the hero Max is not a timidly small man. He’s big. He’s beefy. He’s a chef! He’s not going to be skinny unless he doesn’t like to sample his own cooking. And his specialty is pastry. Need I say more?

I really think I should have spent more time describing Max in the book. I did describe Violet, the heroine as a BBW. She’s a size 16-18. She’s got hips. She’s got big breasts. She’s a full-sized woman to contend with. She’s also very shy and insecure about her size like a lot of women. But that’s exactly what Max loves about her! She’s just slow to believe it.

Here’s an excerpt showing Max trying to convince Violet that she’s just perfect the way she is:

“You see, I know all about hungers. About appetites.” He circled me slowly. Like a tiger using its steamy breath to tenderize its next meal. “And how to satisfy them.”

Maybe so. But surely I must come off as a rather odd case? I mean, I practically raped a pastry chef at a chamber of commerce event! Was there even help for people like me? Concern and embarrassment had me chewing my lower lip. I wanted badly to look away from his gaze—look anywhere but into his chocolate-drizzled eyes. But as if he could read my thoughts, he placed a finger under my chin and held me captive with that simple touch.

“All people have appetites,” he stated. “Your appetites, I know how to feed.” He smiled, and the corners of his eyes crinkled. “I will enjoy feeding them. If you will let me.”

I tried to hide a gulp. He sounded sincere. But how could it be? No man had ever made me such an outrageous offer. I had half a mind to put up a hand and stop him right there. But wasn’t this what I truly wanted? Or would I rather stay within the safe bounds of the pastry goal lines forever and watch my waistband expand? Alone? God. I could hear my mother’s voice…. You’ll never get married with those eating habits, Violet. No man will ever want you. Besides, bigger women can’t get pregnant very easily.

As if he could hear my thoughts, he said, “Even if you think some of your hungers are bad…or wrong.” He pressed a gentle kiss to the tip of my nose. “I assure you they are not. They are perfectly normal.” His arm slid around my back and pulled me close, hip to hip. My sex clenched in anticipation. “All of them.”

To see what other hungers Chef Max satisfies for Violet, check out the rest of the story. It’ll melt your whipped cream!

  6. I can see the appeal of both a bigger man and some one really ripped. In real life I'd tend toward the bigger guy, less maintenance for both of us.
