Friends with Benefits...

Collin Harrison is loving life as a bachelor, but can’t convince his meddling mother to back off. To make matters worse, he’s confused by his attraction to his new neighbor, Devin. But Collin has never been with a man before.

Devin Hardy is no stranger to fulfilling his intimate desires—desires which include his hot neighbor. Good things come to those who wait, but Devin is getting tired of waiting to turn their friendship into one with scorching hot benefits.

“What’s on your mind?”

“It’s nothing.” Collin sighed. “Or maybe it is. But I’ll figure it out, I guess.”

“Like what?” Devin flicked the TV off with the remote and waited.

“My social life has slowed down since I began hanging out with you.” Here we go, breathe, take the plunge and just breathe.

“Gee, thanks.” Devin grimaced. “Way to make a guy feel welcome.”

“I didn’t mean it that way.” He laughed and moved a little closer to him. “I just meant that I’ve had fewer dates recently, that’s all.”

“So you need to get laid.” His friend shrugged. “That sounds simple enough. You don’t need me to help you out with that, do you? I mean….”

Hell, yes, I do. “I guess it is, but my appetites might be changing, and I’m a little unsure about it. It also doesn’t help when you have a mother who likes to meddle. I’ll be hitting thirty soon, and she wants me to settle down.” Collin grimaced before continuing. “I’ve got to love the woman, and so help me God I do, but she’s now got a list of potential candidates.”

“Potential candidates?” Devin’s eyebrows shot up in disbelief. “For a future wife? Well, I’m not sure I can help you there, buddy, but I can get you laid if you want. I know a couple of girls who are pretty open-minded and would help you with your—” He made air quotes with his fingers and grinned. “Appetites. That is of course, if it’s a woman you’re hungry for.” He watched Collin’s reaction to his offer, starting with his face then downward to rest on the boner straining to get out and play.

He blushed. Shit! “Uh….”

Devin licked his lips. “Have you ever had a friend with benefits?”

“Sure, but not in awhile.”

“How about with a man? Have you ever experimented?”

Speechless, and completely turned on, Collin couldn’t form the words to answer. His fantasy was finally within reach, and like a dumbass, he choked. He shook his head no but prayed Devin would continue his pursuit.

“Would you like to?”

1.      How long have you been an author? I’ve been writing since 2006, got my first contracts in 2008 and both books were released in 2009.

2.      What is your favourite genre? I’ve got two which I love writing-contemporary and regency. I haven’t, to date, yet written a straight romance but always have suspense mixed with romance in the books. Someday I’m going to do an all romance book but I’ve got no idea in which genre.

3.      If someone hasn't read any of your work, what book would you recommend they start with and why? It would depend on the genre the individual likes to read. For contemporary Ice Queen which is now out, but if the reader tends toward regency then I’d suggest Spy Catcher which releases next month from Secret Cravings Publishing.  Or if you would rather read stories set during WWII and Vietnam then Love and War would be the book for you.

4.      What is the biggest surprise you’ve discovered about the writing process? That I can’t stop writing. I guess you could say I’m a Writaholic.

5.      Can you tell us about one of your current works in progress? By the time this interview is posted I will have finished Book 4 in A Jessica Sales Novel, Rodeo Queen and will be starting on another regency, The Lost Earl.

6.      Name one thing readers would be surprised to know about you. I’m not a big fan of chocolate.

7.      Name your top three writing goals? I’ve achieved one-Bestselling author. Now I’d like to make both the USA Today and NYT best seller lists. That’s two, the third is to get better with my writing.

Fun Questions -

1.      If you had a warning label, what would it say? Be nice to me or you might end up dead, in one of my novels.

2.      If you had the chance to meet one of your characters privately, who would it be and what would you do? Lady Debbi Overstreet from my regency Spy Catcher. I’d ask her how it felt to finally find her real family after all those years of thinking she was an orphan.

3.      What is the naughtiest thing you’ve ever done? If I told you I might get arrested so I’ll just keep it my secret.

4.      Finally, can you give us your contact links?

Murders and Mysteries blog-

Excerpt for Ice Queen-

With a mental brain shake, she lifted her head. As their gazes met she leaned back only to settle her elbows on the bar top. The effect was damn near instantaneous as it helped stretch the flimsy material over her breasts.

His heated smile of approval, she saw, confirmed the distraction was working. While part of her kept him occupied she positioned her booted right foot against the front of the bar. “You got it?” Her voice was soft with a touch of sensual huskiness.

“And more, if you want,” he replied, as he leaned forward to close the distance.

From the bottom of her vision she caught movement as he lifted a hand. She fought back a cringe when he brushed the tips of his fingers along the side of her breast.

“Nope, just what I ordered.” She paused to look him down and up. “Don’t see anything else that I could use,” her voice hardening ever so slightly.

“You sure?” he asked before his thumb drifted toward her peaked nipple.

“Yep, and if you don’t want to sing with the Vienna Boys Choir, I’d suggest you remove your hand. Oh,” she paused to let the words sink into his lecherous brain, “and look down if you don’t believe me.”

Never one to doubt or underestimate a dangerously beautiful woman he dropped his eyes. He could feel them open even wider when he saw a knife point glisten in the weak light of the room, a centimeter from his groin.

“You really are the Ice Queen everyone says you are.” He stepped back, taking his hand with him. “You have the money?”

“Sure am. That’s why I’m so good at what I do.” She saw he was about to say something but silenced him with a glare. “And don’t ask what I do—you might not like the answer.”

When he wouldn’t step back any farther she knew he was someone who liked to be control, not just people but situations. The problem was that wasn’t on her agenda. She had to make him know who was the boss. Without her connections he’d be just one of hundreds of weapons dealers. The only thing he had going for him was his inventory and ease of delivery.

With a menacing gleam in her eyes Jessica brushed the flat side of the tanto blade against the bulge in his pants. She watched as his eyes took on a panic-stricken glaze. Then, with a slow deliberate motion of her hand, more for her pleasure than his, she withdrew the instrument of torture.

She knew round one was hers when she heard a soft sigh of thankfulness that he was still intact slip from between his lips.

With victory hers, confirmed by the unconscious relaxing of his shoulders, in one fluid motion she sheathed the weapon. From the way his eyes still took her in she suspected Justin knew what would happen, especially if he made any sudden movement toward her, the blade would once again appear and cut off more than his manhood.

** One lucky commenter will win an eBook
copy of Ice Queen in their preferred format.

Buy link: (only one link please) I don’t have links yet! Here is the book’s Facebook page. I am sure links will be going up there as soon as they exist:

1.      How long have you been an author?

I’ve been writing since I was very young, although I have only been sharing my work since the early part of 2013. I still have a hard time calling myself an author; it sounds so real. It’s hard to believe that anything I wrote has actually been read by people who were not my roommates. J

2.      What is your favourite genre?

I write erotica and romance, but I love reading classics. I wish I had the command of vocabulary and language those writers did. I’m honestly not even sure there is much of a market for it anymore, but the classics were what helped develop my love of books so I thank them for that.

3.      If someone hasn't read any of your work, what book would you recommend they start with and why?

My work ranges from romantic with sex to straight up smut, so I suppose it depends what the person is looking to read. For smut, I would suggest the First Timers collections; they get right to the point. For romance, I think Bitter Fruits is a good start because The Quiver of a Kiss is historical romance that naturally doesn’t have a HEA.

4.      What is the biggest surprise you’ve discovered about the writing process?

It’s really hard! That sounds obvious, but there is a big difference between writing for fun and finally settling down to be a writer. I’ve made the decision to make this an actual goal for me rather than a hobby and I suddenly find myself doubting every word. I also tend to worry more about things that didn’t used to matter, like promotion. I think that, as readers, we forget sometimes that there is a person who has to get those words on the page for us and that the process is not easy or quick.

5.      Can you tell us about one of your current works in progress?

Well, Bitter Fruits is releasing this week, which is a big deal for me. It isn’t my first work, but it’s the first one I’ve promoted like this. It also takes a step out of the erotica genre and, although there is sex in the book, it is not the only thing about the book. The story centers around Nora, a college senior, who meets a guy at a party only to discover he is full of secrets. I’ve posted several teasers online, but the book will be out soon for people to find out more!

6.      Name one thing readers would be surprised to know about you.

I’m painfully shy. I love that I can do most of my promotion online, because the idea of meeting people scares me.

7.      Name your top three writing goals?

First and foremost would be to make writing my only job. Secondly, I want people to like my work. I want to reach readers. Finally, I would love for someone in the publishing industry to take note of what I am doing.

Fun Questions -

1.      If you had a warning label, what would it say?

Contents Under Pressure!

2.      If you had the chance to meet one of your characters privately, who would it be and what would you do?

I’m a nerd. I would probably want to discuss mythology with Henry from Bitter Fruits.

3.      What is the naughtiest thing you’ve ever done?

Oh, I definitely don’t think I can share that! Suffice it to say that some of my scenes come from actual experience and we shall leave it at that. ;)

4.      Finally, can you give us your contact links?

Our lips meet again, but it is with doubt. Neither of us knows what will happen if we are to move forward, but I want to have a chance to find out. My body is still crying out for him, but now my mind is calm. I want him, but I want him when he knows that I’m ready for whatever that means. His hands touch me and his caresses are soft. We both slow our breathing and I try to let my will match his. When he pulls away, he gathers the picnic and looks at me with longing and a hunger I do not recognize. It’s not sexual, but desperate. Almost as a dying man looks in the last moments of his life.
“In three days,” he says. “I will meet you again at the church where we first met. In the meantime, I want you to look something up - and if you do not appear at the church, I’ll know that what you found changed everything.”
“Okay,” I say warily. I’ll do anything he asks, but his fear scares me. What kind of secrets can he possibly hold? There is little right now that could stop me from going to him in three days.
I'd like to thank Sarah for joining us. Today she has generously offered to give away four e-book copies of Touch of Venus found here: so please leave a comment with your email address' and follow this blog for a chance to win.

Sarah will announce her four winners on Monday June 24th.

Naughty Nursery Rhymes & A GIVEAWAY with Dianne Hartsock...

Putting the Naughty in a Nursery Rhyme

Intriguing thought, isn't it? Taking a simple childhood rhyme and turning it into something sizzling? When I'd first heard that Naughty Nursery Rhymes were being written, I wasn’t sure what to think. Could it even be done?

Then I read my first one. Heaven help me! It was one of the hottest things I'd ever read, with shifters and sexy bodies and crazy hot love scenes.

So then I felt challenged. If I were to write a Naughty Nursery Rhyme, which one would I use? I thought instantly of Wee Willie Winkie, one of my favorites.

Wee Willie Winkie runs through the town,

Up stairs and down stairs in his night-gown,

Tapping at the window, crying at the lock,

Are the children in their bed, for it's past ten o'clock?

All I could picture was a naughty little boy with an impish grin and a spark of mischief in his eyes. And a nightgown? Made me think of the turn of the century, 1880's.

And that's how my sweet William came to me. A man slightly shorter than average height (hence the name), a mop of blond curls, boyish good looks, with a wicked smile that brought men to their knees. As for him running around in his nightgown crying at the lock, etc.? One night of inebriation and looking for his lover takes care of those lines!

Then of course Willie needed a beautiful, passionate lover to save him from his decadent though very enjoyable ways. Fredrick walks in and steals his heart, but is love enough to keep William happy, or will he go back to his wild bachelor ways?

Tell me what your favorite Nursery Rhyme is in a comment for a chance to win an e-copy of any book on my backlist. Don't forget to leave your contact information and follow this blog!

For the past three years William Wilkerson has led the life of the privileged rich. Head of his father’s shipping business, Willie indulges in the pleasures of Boston’s fine young men to his heart’s content. That is, until he meets Fredrick,, the one man who has captured his heart , again.

As his former tutor, Fredrick has been declared off limits by William’s father. Fredrick also believes he's beneath the attention of Wilkerson’s heir. Willie disagrees, but is he willing to throw away rank and privilege for the man he loves?

"Excuse me. Sir?"

Fredrick looked up, distracted from his memory of lush lips and white skin and wide, hazel eyes, and blinked at the stout innkeeper at his elbow. "Yes?"

"If they're disturbing you, I can have Wee Willie take his guest upstairs. Excuse me, I mean Mister Wilkerson." The man broke off, flustered by the slip of the tongue.

Fredrick's heart leaped on hearing the name mentioned. Is William really here? How could that be? The innkeeper coughed, and Fredrick frowned at the intrusion into his thoughts. The man was so damned serious about such a minor indiscretion. "They're no bother. In fact, I'm almost done anyway." He lifted his nearly empty glass. Hearing a shout, they looked over in time to see a young man tumble through the curtains onto the floor. Fredrick caught a glimpse of red hair and an embarrassed cheek before the gentleman crammed a hat on his head and strode passed them, face averted. The innkeeper shrugged and followed, likely to be sure he paid for his drinks.

Fredrick stared at the silk-clad foot still protruding from the parted curtains. He loosened his hold on his glass but had no way to stop the wild hammering of his heart. Before he lost his courage, he stood and swallowed the last of his brandy, then walked the short distance to the booth.

A grin tugged the corner of his mouth at his eagerness. It had been three years, after all, and they'd parted in anger. Would William acknowledge him? His hand trembled as he drew aside the heavy curtain and allowed his gaze to travel up the silky hose to bright blue trousers. Blood heated his face when he found the laces undone at the waist and the silk shirt open to expose white skin and rosebud nipples.

A sigh brought his gaze up to the pretty face that stirred his dreams. Rich brown curls surrounded lovely hazel eyes and full, pouting lips. He groaned when a delighted smile revealed the even, white teeth that had nipped his collarbone on more than one glorious occasion. "Freddie, is it you?"

It all started with a Girl's Getaway Weekend in Sedona, Arizona...

It's been a year since Jennifer Ellis's ex-husband left her for a much younger woman and Jennifer still hasn't dated. Now turning 40, Jennifer wonders if she'll ever find love again. So Jennifer's best-friend, Melanie Malone, books them on a Girl's Getaway in picturesque Sedona, Arizona in hopes of inspiring Jennifer to have a vacation fling.

Jennifer gets more than she bargained for when she meets the ruggedly handsome 29-year old tour Jeep guide, Cody Miller, and the two begin a passionate romance. What Jennifer doesn't know is that Cody has a secret past that not only threatens to destroy their new love but also expose a tragic event from Jennifer's past that she has tried desperately to forget.

A few minutes later, a black Jeep pulled up next to me. On the side of it in gold lettering were the words Jim Miller Jeep Tours. A young man hopped out of the driver’s side and walked up to me.

He was tall, about six feet, and had wonderful wavy brown hair bleached slightly by the sun. Dark sunglasses covered his eyes.

When he came to a stop in front of me, he crossed his muscular arms over his chest. When I glanced up, I thought I saw the sides of his mouth curl into a slight grin.

“Waiting for a tour?” he asked, still looking down at me.

With his arms crossed, the black tee shirt he was wearing drew tightly across his broad shoulders. As I glanced down, I noticed he was wearing slightly faded but nicely fitting black jeans. Very nicely fitting. Wow, I thought. How was I going to spend an entire day with this guy? He exuded pure masculinity and sexuality. I could barely take standing next to him. He made me extremely nervous. Or maybe I was getting turned on? It had been so long since my “on” button was flipped, I had forgotten what it felt like.

He was looking down at me. I wished he wasn’t wearing those damn sunglasses because I couldn’t read his eyes. I tried to speak, but no words came out. What was wrong with me? This man, this very young, absolutely gorgeous and incredibly sexy man, left me, an English teacher, without words.

He held out a hand. “I’m Cody Miller,” he said.

I took his hand and there was a palpable energy exchange between us. A shiver ran down my spine. We held each other’s grip a bit too long.

“Jennifer Ellis,” I said, then quickly removed my hand from his.

His expression changed very slightly and I swore he glanced down at my left hand. Was he trying to figure out if I was wearing a wedding ring? That’s ridiculous, I thought. Why would this gorgeous and very young man care if I was married? I was…forty.

I am happy to give away an eBook of any Dakota Madison title of the winner’s choice.

What a great post!
I'd like to thank Dakota for joining us today. Please leave a comment to let her know which book you'd like and your email address' for a chance to win it!

Meet Johnny Lavish...

Title: Please Share My Wife with Me? The Wife Swapping Diary of George and Melissa

Release date: 30 March 2013

Author: Johnny Lavish

Genre: Relationship / Erotica

Blurb: George and Melissa is not your typical fictional erotic story. Instead George and Melissa is about a journey of exploration and the challenges it brings them. It is told through George’s experience and store makes George’s journey seem real. It is a great book for anyone who enjoys a short erotic story, romance or relationship story.

1.      How long have you been an author? I have been an author for a few years. I started out writing very short erotic stories for my wife, who immensely enjoyed them. From there I started writing short-stories for a web site that specialized in erotic literature. At that time I did it more for fun but as I did it, the idea of writing for a wider audience started to intrigue me. So, I started my own blog site and did more writing. In total I would say seven years.

2.      What is your favourite genre? I am a big fan of literary fiction from the realist movement, which are books written from post-Civil War America through the start of WWI, roughly (1865 – 1914). Also I enjoy literature from the Revolutionary Era in America. As for erotica it is threesome, cuckold and limited BDSM.

3.      If someone hasn't read any of your work, what book would you recommend they start with and why? I would recommend George & Melissa. It is where I transition from writing for fun to doing it on a more serious level.

4.      What is the biggest surprise you’ve discovered about the writing process? The biggest surprise for me on a very global scale, I find that I spend a lot of time thinking about how I say something and writing in my daily life. From writing I find I become more aware of how words are used and their meaning. More specifically I find my writing ebbs and flows. Whereby I will do a lot of writing for a while and then I will leave it. Then when I come back to writing I find that I more ideas.

5.      Can you tell us about one of your current works in progress? I have four works in some form of progress. One is a collaborative effort with my wife and I would expect that it will be out within the next year. Another is a book that I am writing based on a blog that I have. A third is still in its infancy. I am either looking to do a second part to George and Melissa or another book that has similar themes. Finally I am considering writing a travel book.

6.      Name one thing readers would be surprised to know about you. I tend to come across as social and confident. However, I tend to be introverted and shy, especially in groups.

7.      Name your top three writing goals? 1) I would like to see George and Melissa do well. 2) I would like for writing to become a part-time job for me 3) I would like to try to write a novel that gets some literary recognition.

Fun Questions -

1.      If you had a warning label, what would it say? Do not wake up without a cup of coffee

2.      If you had the chance to meet one of your characters privately, who would it be and what would you do? I would like to meet George. It would be interesting to talk to him about his relationship with Melissa. From there I would like to see where things went and what wold develop.

3.      What is the naughtiest thing you’ve ever done? The word naughty is open to interpretation. From a relationship it would be having a threesome and from a personal perspective it would be voting Tory in 2010. I say this because it is a vote I regret.

4.      Finally, can you give us your contact links?
