Two very busy, but lonely strangers decide to meet for some much needed TLC. The chemistry is instant, the attraction is certainly there, and they seem to have a lot in common so what the hell...

Stand by while their passion ignites, and Julie and Ryan realize one encounter definitely needs to turn into more.

"This is an easy one to recommend. Strong, handsome Marine, beautiful young nurse, and incredibly hot sex. No Strings Attached is a title one has to pick up."
~The LAS Erotic Reviews~

"Where oh where to begin?! This is a hot little piece, and it's good. This reads like a night out when I was in my 20's and I love it! It's not your average smut read! There's something to it. There's a story. I got done reading this and wanted to rush home and see my husband."
~Reader Review~

"This hot, short read sucked me in from the first sentence and I had to read to the end! Two people looking for a no-strings encounter, find their perfect match. A perfect before bed-time story to get you revved up between the sheets."
~Author Kellie Kamryn~

Julie Saunders and Gunnery Sergeant, Ryan Hawke have both hit a rough patch in life. Demanding jobs ensure there aren’t enough hours in the day to get out there and meet people. Tired of feeling lonely and in need of attention, they turn to the personals for a no-strings-attached encounter.

When Ryan sees Julie’s response to his ad for a hook up, he’s relieved he’s found a sane one in the bunch. She’s beautiful, they share the same goals, and she’s got a hell of an adventurous side–just what he needs.

Can reality live up to expectations or will a no-strings hook-up leave them craving more?

Ice Pops, Outdoor Sex & A GIVEAWAY with F.L. Bicknell

Ice Pops and Outdoor Sex

Written by F.L. Bicknell

Years ago one of my men’s mag stories debuted in Penthouse Variations. It was titled Camo Panties in Mud and it was about a couple who falls into a spring and commences getting jiggy with it in the cold spring and mud. Since writing that story, I’ve noticed many of my romances have an outdoor sex scene in them.

And I guess I like rooftops as settings too. Both Making Love in the Rain and another one of my novellas have hot lovemaking scenes on roofs.

Hmm…sex in the rain. Sex beneath a moonlit, starry sky. Shagging on a bluff. Boinking on a beach, rolling around in autumn leaves and a creek…

I think the only outdoor sex scene I haven’t written is a snowy or icy one. Seriously, who wants frost-bitten buns or an ice pop pecker? LOL!

Yeah, I guess I have a thing for writing outdoor love scenes, but hey, they’re fun to write.
To find out more about such hot scenes, check out Making Love in the Rain, Mother Nature’s Passion, and Taker of Life all available at Freya’s and most other e-book distributors.

Share this blog post and tell me where in comments where you shared it OR leave a meaningful comment. One winner will be drawn for a signed postcard of Making Love in the Rain and two Freya’s Bower bookmarks.

The Progeny Series & A GIVEAWAY with Ashlynne Laynne

The Progeny (The Progeny Series #1)
“No fate other than the one I choose.”

The timeless creed, and tattoo, bore by the Rousseaus— a vampire clan with the purest bloodline of any vampire family. Out of this clandestine group came one who was different, yet the same: Ascher-a half-bloodling— half- human, half vampire.

Ascher questions the purpose for his existence and which world he truly belongs to: the human world or the vampire world. Two months from sealing to Ursula— a prearranged union to a woman he abhors — he’s at his wit’s end. He knows if he calls off the sealing, the Romanian clan will strike with deadly force, but he cannot see eternity with a cold empty shell of a woman like Ursula.

Just when he thought life was complicated enough, he meets Shauna— a beautiful, bi-racial human Wiccan — and immediately develops an unshakable attraction to her. She makes him feel alive and vital despite his origins and Ascher makes a decision that turns his immortal world upside down.
Blood Bonds (The Progeny Series #2)
“Forever. For always. For eternity.”
The ties that bind two hearts are powerful. For Ascher Rousseau and Shauna McCutchin, it’s more than just a blood bond. Their union is that of vampire legend. Their love is a predestined prophecy foretold centuries ago.
It’s a week before Ascher and Shauna's sealing and the couple is making final preparations for their eternity, but Ascher's ex has other plans. Ursula is hell-bent on revenge—revenge fueled by lover's scorn and her father's death—and she begins breeding a fresh army of newborn darklings to do her bidding.
When Ursula finds a new weapon—an ally with the capability to dismantle the Rousseau clan— Ascher and Shauna's bond is tested and they must stand together against Ursula or lose each other for eternity.
Blood Promise (The Progeny Series #3)
“Their love is fated by an ancient prophecy. Now the promise is fulfilled.”

Ascher Rousseau is a half-human, half vampire whose life has been a series of prophecies and predictions. After finding incredible love and passion with Shauna—a Wiccan with powers beyond anything he’s ever known—he seals to her and hopes for happiness. But his enemies seek to destroy all that he loves, and he finds that happiness never lasts for long.

Darkness is descending and a vampiric revolution is nearing. A new brood of hatchlings is born to join their darkling brothers, in preparation for war. A preordained chain of events is set into motion that could lead to the rise of the demonic “cloaked one” and his half-human fallen children, while ending humanity—as we know it.

Can a supernatural love and the loyal bond of a family save the Rousseaus and the world from certain extinction?
About Ashlynne Laynne
Ashlynne Laynne has always had a soft spot in her heart for vampires but grew tired of the garlic fearing, sun-loathing creatures of old. An avid horror movie fan, she tends to enjoy media and music that is of a younger, more eclectic nature. This was the catalyst for her writing The Progeny. The vampire/witch pairing is unique and different when most books pair vampires with werewolves.
Ashlynne loves writing on the edge and teetering between the erotica and romance genres, and thinks of Ascher and Shauna as the wicked, damned version of Romeo and Juliet. She is currently working on book four of her Progeny Series, book one of her upcoming Rocker Series, and an untitled novella WIP. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, reading and spending time with her family. She juggles the hats of wife, mother, full time employee and part-time writer, hoping to write full time one day soon.
Ashlynne lives in North Carolina with her husband and teenage son.

About The Progeny Series

At its core, The Progeny is simply a story about a man and woman who fall in love, and the fact that he’s a half-blood (half-human, half vampire) and she’s a Wiccan human are secondary factors. When we meet Ascher, he’s grumpy. Frankly, who could blame him? He’s engaged to seal to Ursula—a cold and careless vampire who wants nothing more than to get her hands on a bloodstone— and he feels conflicted about his existence.

All of that changes when he meets Shawnette McCutchin. She’s beautiful, intriguing and possesses some of the most potent blood that he’s ever smelled. A war immediately begins inside Ascher. He craves Shauna’s blood just as much as he craves her body and the closer they get, the harder it is for him to control his urges. After Ascher calls off the sealing to Ursula, the trouble begins. His family’s peaceful period ends when Ursula’s army attacks the Rousseaus.

This series encompasses a family dynamic of which we’ve never seen. The Rousseaus share a common mortal and immortal bloodline, but loyalty is the thread binding this clan. Shauna and Ascher’s dissuaded love only strengthens the family bonds. Their unique union transcends bloodlines and completes the prophecy, defying the archaic beliefs of centuries old covenants while shattering the wall between the Wiccan and vampire worlds that has existed for ages. This series is erotic paranormal romance intended for adults, as it contains adult sensuality, language and themes.

My favorite part of writing this series is building this love affair between these two amazing characters. I’m sharing one of my favorite scenes from Blood Promise.

“I thought something was wrong with me. I hated the woman I was supposed to love, and being with her made me physically ill.” The grimace on Ascher’s face brightened into a smile. “Then, I met you and everything changed. I felt my world shift the moment our eyes met in that crowded bar. I’ve never felt anything like that before. Then, I quickened and you became my world.”

Shauna paused, remembering how entranced she’d been when they’d met. Sure, he was a jerk at first, but she’d seen glimmers of the real Ascher beneath his standoffish demeanor. In hindsight, she understood why he’d reacted that way. He was a unique immortal being with an unbelievable prophecy on his shoulders, and a commitment to marry another.

“I was taken by you, too,” she confessed.

“Then, we made love that first time, and what I felt surpassed anything I’d been told, or could ever imagine. Sex stopped being a race to the finish line, or a dreaded task that left me mentally detached. With you, it’s about the connection, being right there with you—inside you, so that I lose myself. God, Shauna, you have no idea.”

His words floored her.

He kissed her forehead, his lips lingering on her skin. “I didn’t think it was possible for me to love, not this way, not the way I feel about you. I remember lying in the bed beside you, holding you in my arms and thinking how blessed I was to have had the experience. I knew, in that moment, that I’d protect you with my life.”

She paused, thinking about how far they’d come. The mere mention of Ursula had at one time been taboo...a forbidden subject that drudged up emotions and memories too painful for them to endure. Now, they talked about her and his feelings openly. She knew this was what he’d wished for, waited for and wanted more than anything else—his eternal love.

Shauna finally understood what he’d meant about sex being easy. Baring the depth of your soul was difficult, but they’d somehow learned to do it, and their relationship was stronger for it. She felt blessed to know only the feel and touch of a man who truly cherished her. Overcome by emotion, she could only stare in awe.

“I never thought this was possible—for someone to know the fiend inside me and still love me, despite it. Unconditionally. Wholly. Without question. I still don’t fully understand how you can love me, but I’m so grateful that you do.” His hands came to each side of her face, his gaze stabbing straight into her heart. “You are everything to me.” Placing her hand over his pounding heart, he stated, “My beginning. My end. My forever.”

In need of Reviews, Who Wants A Freebie?

My latest in the Leather and Pleasure series, Taming Julian, was finally released a couple of weeks ago and I'm looking for reviews.
I've got three copies to giveaway to a few lucky commenters, if you wouldn't mind leaving a review on Amazon, GoodReads, & any other site you can think of. Interested? *grins* Just leave a comment with your email address'.
Here's more about the novella;
Rachel Hanson learned the hard way that love is not always what it’s cracked up to be. She’s more of a love em’ and leave em’ type and doesn’t have plans to change that status anytime soon. That is until she meets Julian and that makes her nervous.
Julian Banks is a notorious ladies man and likes to have a good time. So when he starts a new job at the ever popular Leather and Pleasure club as a bouncer, he never imagined he’d meet the woman of his dreams let alone on the first night.
Past hurts drive Rachel away, and during the four years since, he’s finally realized that it’s time to settle down and the only woman he wants is her. But, can he convince Rachel of the same or will she run again?
All Romance E-books:
Barnes & Noble:
It was the night before his first shift on the job. Rhys had just given him the low down about company policy and what was expected, not acceptable, and yadda, yadda yadda… It was his job to be the muscle, working security inside the club, one of many to keep watch and make sure there wasn’t any trouble when he spotted her getting a drink at the bar. Her red hair fell loose almost covering her ass, and instantly his cock hardened just picturing what he could do with it. He could bend her over the bar and sheath himself deep inside her soft welcoming pussy, using those locks to hold her in place, pulling a little to expose her neck and taste her salty and albeit sweet skin. And, those breasts…hot damn! She wore a black corset that exposed them to everyone’s view. They were just enough to fill his big hands. She had a curvy middle, narrow waist, and eyes he could get lost in. Yep, right then and there he knew he had to at the very least get to know her name. Red would be his one day from that first moment, he just knew. The possibilities were endless; this was a sex club after all.
“Can I buy your next round, Red?” Julian casually leaned against the bar beside her and smiled.
“Red, huh?” Her eyebrow went up before she took a sip of her drink, and openly checked him out. Julian loved it.
“Yeah,” he reached over feeling a little more confident, and slipped a strand between his fingers before continuing. “Since I don’t know your actual name yet, I’m going with Red.”
“I think I like you already.” Her lips twitched as if she fought a smile, and she extended her hand. “The name is Rachel, Rachel Hanson, and you are?”
“Julian Banks, at your service.”
“Are you now? Well, it looks like this might be your lucky night, Julian. I came here solo tonight looking for a good time.”
“Well if it’s a good time you’re looking for, it wouldn’t be a hardship for me to fill those shoes…” Rachel put her finger on top of his lips to stop him right there and interrupted.
“I’m sure you’d be great, but the thing is I’m the kind of girl who likes to call the shots and I have a feeling you’re the type of man who also enjoys that position. Do you see the problem that might cause?
Julian took a moment to look around the bar before meeting her gaze again and just when he was about to convince her he was game for anything, she began to leave. “Wait,” He reached out for her arm to halt her and she eyed it strangely until he let her go. “I can be anything you want me to be. Please don’t go.”
“Really?” She slapped him across the face and his cock suddenly began to deflate, and a muscle in his jaw twitched in aggravation.“Then the first lesson you need to learn when talking to your Dominant is that you never maintain eye contact when speaking or being spoken to, unless directed otherwise.”
Julian immediately diverted his gaze, and began to wonder if it was worth it after all. She actually slapped me in the fucking faceWTF! But then she pressed her body flush against his, blew on the hand print indented in his left cheek and licked her way up his face to his earlobe. She nipped on it, and her warm breath against his ear made him shiver.
“Number two: I’m normally addressed as Mistress or Madam, but I kind of like “Red” so you will continue to address me so.” She leaned back with a twinkle in her eye. “Number three: I need you willing and ready to trust me to meet your every need without question. Think you can handle that?”
Julian gulped and kept his gaze locked on her sexy boots, finally nodding his consent. “Teach me, Red.” Next thing he knew she fisted the front of his shirt and dragged him into a private room where spanking, restraints, and sexual limits were tested. Rachel taught him all right, and she’d given him the best sex of his life. Much to both of their surprises, when she showed up a week later she hadn’t been expecting to see him again, and he hadn’t expected to see her playing the role of submissive when she’d been his dominant the week before.
A fucking switch, and as sick as it may sound, it turned him on even more to think about playing either role for that woman. What sucked like shit was that she seemed spooked once their first night ended and it took him forever to get past her barriers to get to the friendship they had today. He intended to find out why, and intended to push those barriers a little further because where Rachel Hanson was concerned, he wanted it all.
I hope you all enjoyed the Taming Julian (Leather and Pleasure 6) teaser, and I'll look forward to your feedback.
Best wishes,

Fool's Gold, Characters & A GIVEAWAY with Cassandra Dean...

BLOG POST TITLE: On Characters, and how they change

Hi peeps! I’m so happy to be here on Jennifer’s blog, chatting to you all about FOOL’S GOLD.

FOOL’S GOLD is the second in The Diamond Series, featuring Pearl and Garrett, characters introduced in the first book, ROUGH DIAMOND. In ROUGH DIAMOND, these characters were purely there to support the protagonists, to be their foil, their guide, their sounding board, to advance the plot of that story. However, when my editor asked me to write Pearl’s story, I had to rethink these characters entirely, and come up with goals and motivations for Pearl and her hero, Ethan Garrett.

It’s amazing how these things germinate and then grow, becoming lovely blooming flowers (how’s that for a metaphor??). I started with Pearl and wondered why did she agree to move all the way from Chicago to Wyoming, to become the star of her friend’s burlesque spectacular? Pearl was a big-time chorus girl in Chicago, used to the accolades of many. Why would she drop that and move to the wilds of Wyoming, to a small town comprising roughly 200 people because her friend asked, a friend she hadn’t seen in years? I mean, that seems a bit odd, right? So...why?

Well, Pearl was a chorus girl in the late 1800s, and men—rich men—would assume she was for sale. When all you wanted to do was perform, when the love of the stage drove you, it must be disappointing—devastating, even—that you couldn’t escape that assumption. And, worse...what if you were tempted to say yes? So, Pearl left before she succumbed, before she gave in and hated herself for her weakness.

Yay! I had a motivation for Pearl, and the basis of a conflict. Pearl didn’t much like rich men for the reminder of her weakness. So what did I need to do? Make Ethan a rich man, of course!

But how could I do that? In ROUGH DIAMOND, Ethan Garrett was established as a coal surveyor, a man hired to determine the value of the heroine’s claim. He seemed a regular sort of man, one who drifted from place to place, following the coal. How could he become a rich man?

Well, Ehtan must have had a family at some point. What if it was a family he hadn’t seen for years? What if his family was rich, if he’d grown up in wealth? What if he developed a passion for coal, and his family hadn’t understood? What if he left home to pursue his passion, and his family wanted him to give up his silly ‘playing in coal’?

Boom! Conflict! Goals! Motivation! Huzzah! Now that I had all of that, I could write the story of Pearl and Ethan, and that’s exactly what I did!

It was so much fun to write FOOL’S GOLD and The Diamond Series, and I hope you all check it out.

New Releases, Writing Success & A GIVEAWAY with Lily Rede...

Firefighter Matt Harris has wanted edgy librarian Grace Mallow forever – there’s something about her purple hair and her sexy dark side that pushes all of his buttons, even if the rest of the town looks down on her. Unfortunately, Matt’s memories of an abusive childhood have left him terrified of turning into a monster like his father. He’s determined to find a gentle way to woo Grace, but he’s unprepared for the white-hot heat that burns when they finally come together.

Grace Mallow knows that no matter how badly she wants him, she doesn’t belong with a wholesome blond dreamboat like Matt, who would be horrified to learn that she wants to be sexually dominated. But Matt is persistent, and Grace is having a hard time turning him down and keeping her emotional walls intact. As the couple struggles to handle their passion for each other, an arsonist begins terrorizing Bright’s Ferry, and all signs point to Grace’s younger brother, a reformed firebug recently returned to town to make amends for his crimes. Matt and Grace race to stop a madman, but can they find common ground and save each other and their town, or will passion and fire burn out of control and separate them forever?

“What’s the matter?” asked Grace, and then looked up, eyes widening, “Oh.”
“Hi, Grace.”
Did he have to take up all the oxygen in the room? Grace supposed that when a man was as big as Matt Harris, he was going to take the lion’s share of breathable air. She assured herself that her sudden breathlessness was not a result of her impossible attraction to the hot firefighter. He was objectively beautiful, that was all – all that hard muscle that clothing couldn’t disguise, the face carved by a divine hand, thick golden hair, and sky blue eyes that practically shone with honesty and goodwill toward mankind.
She wanted to climb him like a ladder and lick every inch along the way.
Shit. Shit. Shit.
Grace forced a cool smile.
“Hi, Matt. You remember my brother Adam.”
Matt nodded, clearly curious, but didn’t comment on her brother’s sudden reappearance. Adam had been a nightmare for the Bright’s Ferry Fire Department, and Grace couldn’t blame Matt for being un-thrilled to see him again.
“Adam’s going to be staying with me for a while, taking some classes. Isn’t that great?” she went on brightly, squeezing Adam’s hand reassuringly.
Grace knew the second Matt spotted the scars on Adam’s wrists, but again, he remained silent, just raised a surprised eyebrow.
“Did you want something?” Grace cringed internally as the words left her lips, because for the briefest moment, Matt’s eyes flared with heat, and she felt an answering tug low in her stomach.
Oh, he definitely wants something.

Whenever I finish a book, my first thought is, Thank God that's over. My second is inevitably, Did I remember to spellcheck? My third is, How many celebratory margaritas is one too many? And then I congratulate myself that I'm done with that world and onto the next. Sounds good, right? Unfortunately, in writing genre fiction, we're often writing series, which means that all that self-loathing we've worked up is going to be revisited in, oh, let's say a couple of weeks when we realize that the next book isn't going to write itself.

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE writing Bright's Ferry. I love the characters, I love the town. I fill it with people I know and places I've been, and I could probably draw a map at this point. But I will admit that there is a kind of insanity in going back to a place that I know is going to drive me completely bonkers. Why?

One word: Continuity.

If Sheriff Tony drives an SUV in SAFE FROM THE DARK, unless something happened to it, he'd better be driving an SUV in SAFE FROM THE FIRE. If someone dies in Book #1, they'd better not show up in Book #2. A lot of it is the nitpicky little details, but that's what real world-building is - the little things. Readers are smart, and as the series continues, I fully expect to be ripping my hair out trying to remember if Dreyer has two daughters or three, how often the Town Council meets, and whether Tony Arnetto has any scars on that luscious physique (believe me, that's going to become important down the line).

There's a pretty extensive spreadsheet in the works...LOL...

Taking on a sequel is crazy. A third or fourth book is madness. But we're writers, which makes us slightly off-kilter to begin with, and believe it or not the push to accomplish something insane is half the fun.
