The Progeny Series and a GIVEAWAY with Ashlynne Laynne

I’d first like to thank Jennifer for welcoming me to her blog again. I truly love it here at Labelle Books. Today, I’m premiering an exclusive HOT excerpt from the upcoming Blood Bonds. This will be the only blog that gets this excerpt. I recently decided to arc over into more erotic type writing after a writer, much wiser than myself, told me that she sensed me holding back. Hope you enjoy the excerpt and leave a comment for the chance to win a digital copy of Blood Bonds when it releases next month.

The Progeny Blurb (The Progeny Series #1)

“No fate other than the one I choose.”

The timeless creed, and tattoo, bore by the Rousseau’s— a vampire clan with the purest bloodline of any vampire family. Out of this clandestine group came one who was different, yet the same: Ascher-a half-bloodling— half- human, half vampire.

Ascher questions the purpose for his existence and which world he truly belongs to: the human world or the vampire world. Two months from sealing to Ursula— a prearranged union to a woman he abhors — he’s at his wit’s end. He knows if he calls off the sealing, the Romanian clan will strike with deadly force, but he cannot see eternity with a cold empty shell of a woman like Ursula.

Just when he thought life was complicated enough, he meets Shauna— a beautiful, bi-racial human Wiccan — and immediately develops an unshakable attraction to her. She makes him feel alive and vital despite his origins and Ascher makes a decision that turns his immortal world upside down.

Blood Bonds Blurb (The Progeny Series #2)

“Forever. For always. For eternity.”

The ties that bind two hearts are powerful. For Ascher Rousseau and Shauna McCutchin, it’s more than just a blood bond. Their union is that of vampire legend. Their love is a predestined prophecy foretold centuries ago.

It’s a week before Ascher and Shauna's sealing and the couple is making final preparations for their eternity, but Ascher's ex has other plans. Ursula is hell-bent on revenge—revenge fueled by lover's scorn and her father's death—and she begins breeding a fresh army of newborn darklings to do her bidding.

When Ursula finds a new weapon—an ally with the capability to dismantle the Rousseau clan— Ascher and Shauna's bond is tested and they must stand together against Ursula or lose each other for eternity.

Exclusive Excerpt from Blood Bonds (The storms of love)

“You don’t have to wait for your changing to strip me,” he suggested, raising himself to a sitting position. “Besides, we should probably get you out of those wet clothes.”

Her face flushed a deep shade of red. I have to remember that he can read my mind. She tensed as his fingertips trailed her spine, sparking a shiver to join the vibration of heat already burning inside her, intensifying the leftover burn from the orb.

Fire and ice now coursed every sinew in her body, existing everywhere at once, just as pain and pleasure sometimes inhabited her when they made love—each exerting its will, refusing to be conquered. She felt powerful and submissive. He did that to her, made her conflicted and his morphing eyes did nothing to remedy that affliction.

He growled then grabbed her to him, claiming her mouth with his demanding kiss and impatient tongue. Her neck fell back in invitation, and he obliged her with tender kisses and gentle sucking against the soft skin while his touch sent sensual voltage to her core.

He flashed his bright red eyes as their bodies hovered and flipped with his body on top.

The sexual tension coursed heavy, shockwaves of current passing between them. Each touch was a jolt burning her wherever his fingers lingered. Clothing disappeared amidst a soundtrack of the
falling rain, ravenous moaning and the ripping of fabric. She didn’t care about anything but being closer to him and having his hands on her, their bodies together with no boundaries obstructing their passion. Her heart raced—beating so furiously that she thought she might have a heart attack. His deeply thrusting cock breached her aching pussy, fueling and quenching her yearning for him.

“More,” she pleaded in a voice thick and heady with hunger. She couldn’t get him close enough. No depth of penetration seemed to reach the fire blazing inside her. Her frustrated arms forced him closer, cementing their bodies until their pelvic bones rocked against one another. He was a perfect fit, completely filling her with the reassurance that their lovemaking always brought.

His body quivered as he pierced her with crimson colored eyes.

“Faster!” she demanded, thrusting her body against his, intensifying the strokes.

His breaths quickened as his eyes rolled in his head.

Twining her legs around his waist, she meshed him to her, squeezing herself around him. The tingle was there, taunting her, spurring the itch that only her orgasm could scratch. She wanted it and she wanted him deeper. “Deeper Ascher—deeper, I’m close. I’m so close.”

He plunged inside of her, the slow movements stirring and bringing her closer to the brink.

“Yes…yes…don’t stop!”

Ascher groaned, “Shauna,” through clenched teeth while clutching her hips to control her wild thrusting. “What’s with you tonight?”

He was stiff as steel, his heart hammering and pulsing out a pleading rhythm. She was anxious and squirmy, her nails tearing at his flesh. He’d never seen her so voracious. The pulsations inside her and the rough thrusting lashed at him, bringing him into the danger zone. She’s your human wife and you can’t hurt her. Slow things down. “Sweetheart, wait. I could hurt you.”

“You won’t hurt me. Don’t worry and whatever you do, don’t stop!” Her neck craned back, the skin taut and her carotid pulsating. “Oh, God.”

Thunder boomed outside.

She pulled his lips to hers, driving her tongue into his mouth. Each flick forced the fire closer to his shaft, the stiffness turning into an engorged type of pain. He was worried about hurting her but she was hurting him.

Lightning flashed outside and rain crashed against the window. The raging storm only mimicked the surge of adrenaline, hormones and fever erupting in him.

A string of demands flew from her mouth. “More…deeper…faster…don’t stop!”

His heart thundered as he pounded into her with everything he had, his head still foggy from the crash. He stroked her deeper, harder, with as much force as he could muster, the lightheadedness
blurring his thoughts and vision.

Release was coming—hers and his.

Another bolt of lightning flashed outside, striking a tree near the pool. A loud swoosh came as a limb plummeted into the water.

Goosebumps prickled the surface of his skin as her nails dug into his back. “Oh God, baby,” he murmured as the prickles became currents of pure ecstasy rushing along his nerves.

“Ah,” she moaned against his neck, gripping his ass to urge him deeper.

“You want me deeper?” he asked in a husky voice that signaled his nearing the edge of the precipice. He fought to restrain himself but found that his cock now had a mind of its own. He couldn’t stop. “Oh, fuck,” he whimpered as he delved deeper and pushed harder. In. Out. Each slick stroke forced more electricity to his spine, crushing his control and blurring his vision with blood. His head fell back as he felt himself swell inside her.

Shauna bent her legs, placing the soles of her feet on his shoulders, until her pussy completely enveloped him with its warm silkiness. “Come on, Ascher,” she moaned as her insides clenched, clamping down around him.

“It’s so good,” he groaned, darting his tongue into her mouth, absorbing the taste of her. “God, baby, you feel so fucking good.” His eyes rolled as he lost himself in the her. Climax erupted and exploded in his body, bringing a satisfying surge of relief.

He stilled, bringing her legs down and around his hips. Fixated eyes pierced hers as their mouths joined, his tongue imitating the slow circling of his hips. Dipping and probing—stroking in and

This relentless rhythm was the best way to draw out her release.

She moaned into his mouth and cried out, “Ascher,” as her body convulsed beneath him. The storm ceased with her orgasm, slowing as her heartbeat and breathing returned to normal—he’d never experienced anything like it.

About Ashlynne:
Ashlynne Laynne has always had a soft spot in her heart for vampires but grew tired of the garlic fearing, sun-loathing creatures of old. An avid horror movie fan, she tends to enjoy media and music that is of a younger, more eclectic nature. This was the catalyst for her writing The Progeny. The vampire/witch pairing is unique and different when most books pair vampires with werewolves.

Ashlynne loves writing on the edge and teetering between the erotica and romance genres, and thinks of Ascher and Shauna as the wicked, damned version of Romeo and Juliet. She is currently working on books three and four of her Progeny Series, book one of her upcoming Rocker Series, and an untitled novella WIP. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, reading and spending time with her family. She juggles the hats of wife, mother, full time employee and part-time writer, hoping to write full time one day soon.

Ashlynne lives in North Carolina with her husband and teenage son.

I'd like to thank Ashlynne for coming back on Labelle Books. I've read The Progeny and loved it so if you're looking for the next great paranormal romance to read, then I suggest you pick this one up. In the meantime, don't forget to follow this blog and comment with your email address to win a copy of Blood Bonds when it comes out next month.

A Soldier's Vow by Jackie M. Smith and the Historical Details that Inspired her...

Romancing historical details

When I first researched for my historical romance A Soldier’s Vow, I discovered so many interesting facts about the French country during one of the most terrifying periods in their long history. The German army had easily invaded the Northern part of France and often bombarded Paris but never succeeded in penetrating the city’s walls. Nonetheless, the city had been hit in other different and equally devastating ways.

Blackouts, food shortages and influenza affected everyone. Through my research, I discovered many families could no longer afford to keep their children fed, therefore they sent the weakest members of their family to their relatives in the country or other safer places. In A Soldier’s Vow, I wanted to show how the heroine Winnie Douglas saw and lived what everyone went through between 1914 and 1918 Paris. I also show how the war affected the women who stayed behind and waited for their husband, brother, cousin who joined the war effort.

The war also changed the soldiers who fought and saw firsthand the horrors and victories of war. Henry Whitfield, the hero in A Soldier’s Vow, had no idea what he would see and experience when he left his Canadian hometown. Many countries including Canada sent their strongest and bravest men overseas and fight an unknown enemy. They trained hard and fought even harder.Yet what waited for them in the trenches became their worst enemy. Rats, lice and other diseases caused the most terrible living conditions for every soldier on both sides.

Using such details in my book not only creates a setting but also brings the reader back to a time of turmoil, courage and undying love.

Winnie Douglas always loved taking pictures of her family and her hometown. One day, while reading a war magazine, pictures of the soldiers whose strength and courage touched her. With her family’s blessing, she journeys to Paris where a French magazine hires her to take pictures of the war. Henry Whitfield answers the call of duty and travels halfway across the world to fight in the war. Far away from his family and Canadian hometown, he feels the loneliness. On the battlefield, he meets an angel. Afraid she is just a dream, he befriends Winnie. War brought them together. Will it tear them apart?

Adding More Spice & a GIVEAWAY with Morticia Knight

Does Another Person Add More Spice?

Or do they just make the flavor too overpowering? Thanks Jennifer for allowing me to take over your blog today! Obviously, there are many people out there who wouldn’t want, or couldn’t handle being in a ménage relationship – even if it were just for one night. The idea of sharing such an intimate moment with someone else is either too embarrassing, or creates too much jealousy. Will the other person feel left out? Will I feel left out? How can we make it a mutually satisfying experience for all involved? And the big question: what type of ménage is it, and will there be same-sex intimacy? But when the chemistry is just right, a ménage can be downright explosive!

As it turns out, the heroine in my new story just out at Total-E-Bound books, The Perfect Third, is really only interested in finding one great man to be with, but one who is more adventurous sexually than the boring ones she’s had. She thinks she’s found just the right guy, but can’t figure out why things abruptly cool off between them. Does it have anything to do with his dangerously handsome best friend that shared breakfast with them?

In my contemporary MFM ménage, about the only question these three don’t have to answer, is will there be same sex intimacy. Alexa is all about the boys, and Lorne and Antony just want to find their Perfect Third, and that third needs to be a hot lusty woman. Does Alexa fit that description? Lorne thinks definitely so, but Antony isn’t so sure. And will Alexa be willing to have not one, but two hunky men at the same time, all the time?

I’m including an excerpt from “The Perfect Third”, and if you would like to win an e-copy of this just released story, than just comment on what it is about ménage that you like, and include your contact info. The contest will close one week from today.

Adult Excerpt from “The Perfect Third”, a contemporary MFM ménage from Total-E-Bound Publishing.

After a large swallow of wine, Lorne set his glass on the coffee table and leaned into Alexa. He looked directly into her eyes, and locked his lips on hers once again. She melted into him, allowing herself to shut her eyes and feel the moment. Lorne used both hands to explore her body, sliding up and down her, briefly fondling her breasts, stroking her hair, petting the side of her face. Alexa began heating up again, and reciprocated by rubbing his broad, muscular chest, and caressing the stone-hard tops of his thighs.

Abruptly, Lorne pulled back and stood up. He looked down at her as she leant back against the arm of the sofa, and began to unbutton the white tuxedo shirt he was wearing, throwing the bow tie to the ground. His chest exposed, Alexa feasted her eyes on just how well built he was, with just a light smattering of golden hair. He undid his belt and slacks, which were also then cast aside. He was left standing in black briefs that strained under the hardness of his generous cock.

“Would you like to do the final honours?” he said to her, a mischievous tone to his voice.

Alexa wanted to rip the fabric from his body to get at what was being held prisoner beneath. She leant forward so that her face was even with his crotch. Feeling lightheaded from the wine, and maybe a little dangerous, she grabbed the elastic waistband with her teeth and began tugging it downward. He was so hard, it was difficult to get the underwear to cooperate, so she gave it an extra tug with both her hands.

Finally his large prize was free, and she immediately caught it with her lips, licking and tonguing the shaft, teasing the tip as she eased it in and out of her mouth. Lorne placed both hands on her head, moaning, and began to thrust his cock deep into her, pushing at the back of her throat as she opened up to take as much of him as she could.

Lorne held her head fast in his hands, so Alexa was free to begin sliding out of her silk dress. As it fell to her waist, she lifted up slightly to get it the rest of the way off. She sat perched on the edge of his white couch in a red satin lace bra and thong panties. She saw Lorne looking down at her and hoped that the sight of his thick prick ramming into her face and her full C-cup breasts bouncing in the red push-up bra was bringing him true delight.

She was briefly unsure of herself as he pulled his dick out of her mouth, but he reassured her. “You are way too sexy in this outfit, with a sweet, sumptuous mouth. I’m afraid I won’t be able to contain myself.”

He knelt down in front of her and began to kiss her again, and she could feel that her mouth was sloppy and her lips were swollen from the recent assault of his shaft. Her cheeks were flushed, and he watched as her chest rose alluringly with fast breath. He began to explore her again, and he made it clear it was time for the rest of her clothing to come off. He undid her bra, and she helped move things along by sliding her panties off.

“I appreciate your enthusiasm,” he said, locking with her eyes again. “I plan to reward it.”

Thank again Jennifer for having me here at your blog today!

Labelle Books Reviews Dangerous Ally & Dangerous Proposal by Jessica Lauryn

I was approached by Ms. Lauryn to review both of her latest Romantic suspense novels and it didn’t disappoint. I couldn’t put either of them down once I started them and wanted to share my review of both novels at once for all of you.

The first novel in the series, Dangerous Ally, features new reporter Lilah Benson and sexy bad boy Lucas Ramone. You see, Lucas is a diamond smuggling kingpin who used to be engaged to her sister Lena, and also Lilah’s nemesis. So why is it she decides to take a job working for his father in the same home Lucas lives? The answer is easy really it gives her a chance to write the story that will make her career soar. The plan sounds easy enough until she actually meets him again and is tempted by the unwanted desire he invokes inside of her. Oh, he’s dangerous alright, because now that her heart is involved Lucas is more powerful than ever but is he as ruthless and hard as she first suspects, or is he willing to make changes to save them both from the dangers that lurk in the

A tempting read, right? I thought so. The suspense begins immediately, and the chemistry between Lilah and Lucas is scorching. Add in manipulative relatives, sexy seductive staff members, a little stubbornness and a will to fight for what’s yours, and you’ve got yourself this intriguing read that will keep you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end. I loved it!

Now we go on to the second novel, Dangerous Proposal where at nineteen Alec Westwood makes the biggest mistake of his life when he agrees to become a cold blooded murder for hire only to change his mind at the last minute and narrowly escapes with his own life intact. He spends years of his life looking over his shoulder, and as soon as he becomes relatively comfortable in his life again, a stunning woman enters it turning it upside down. She not only wears the insignia for the organization that recruited him, she also leaves him spellbound after just one kiss.

Lena Benson is on the run to get away from her obsessed diamond smuggling fiancé, Lucas Ramone but just as she’s about to forge a new life, Alec Westwood enters it charming her. She’s convinced he’s the man her fiancé has hired to track her down, while he’s convinced she’s the one sent there to finish him off. Lena takes matters into her own hands and Alec soon realizes the power she holds over him is far greater than all his strength and fortitude combined, only he’s not the only one bewitched in the end.

Dangerous Proposal is complimentary to the first installment of this series as it gives us a better understanding of Lena’s story, her unhealthy relationship with Lucas, and her happily ever after with Alec. It’s a well written tale of murder, suspense, and a loving happily ever after before it finishes. The sex is smoking hot, the wooing is absolutely romantic enough to make you sigh, and it’s filled with unsuspecting plot twist throughout that will leave you wanting more. I can honestly say that I hope Ms. Lauryn will consider a third installment to ‘The Pinnacles of Power’ series as it would be nice to see Alec’s brother, Colin, get what’s coming to him, as well as see sisters Lilah and Lena reconcile. Go get your copies today!
At two years old, Jessica became a devoted fan of both listening to and reciting the books her parents would read to her at night. When she was a little older (about four), she sought a greater challenge in her life and began making up stories of her own, acting them out with her dolls. “When the dolls got boyfriends,” she says, “I knew I was getting too old for dolls!”
A lifelong lover of romance, Jessica took several writing classes in college, and told her professors she was one-day going to write soap operas. When graduation came, she joined a critique group, and on a whim, decided to write a romance novel. That first attempt will forever be staying under the mattress...
Then, on a train ride to her internship in the fashion industry, Jessica finally cracked open her first romance novel. That hot August morning, she fell head-over-heels for the genre, and has been writing it ever since. Jessica is most intrigued by dark heroes who have many demons to conquer but little trouble enticing female companions into their beds! She feels that the best romances are those where the hero is already seducing the heroine from that first point of contact. “Isn’t it the hero’s job to seduce?” she says with a grin. Jessica loves to see the sparks fly when a stubborn, domineering hero crosses paths with a bold, feisty heroine, and uses the combination frequently in her stories.
When she is not writing, Jessica enjoys listening to as much 80s music as possible, watching the same reruns of Smallville over and over, shopping for exceptionally unique cameos, and taking long walks in nature where she can daydream about anything romantic. Though she resides in central New Jersey, her heart belongs to the White Mountain National Forest in New Hampshire.

An Interview & A Giveaway with Robert Wacaster

Where do we find sex and love? Home? Work? Vacation? Daphne, Gabrielle, and Theresa are searching for sex and love in different places. Will they find what they want? Or is Sex and Love in the same package a myth?

Daphne: She loves her boyfriend, but he rushes through everything, including sex. Can she get Sam to slow down and give her what she needs?

Gabrielle: The office beauty. She's been dating the wrong men. One day she overhears the office "nerd" talking about how to please a woman. Can the "sexual techniques" he knows be the answer to Gabrielle's prayers?

Theresa: She's always been the overweight girl. Her boyfriend Charlie takes her to a virtual resort where everyone looks perfect. Will this experience allow her to enjoy what she already has with Charlie?
I'd like to welcome Robert back to Labelle Books. Today Robert gives us a glimpse of his newest release 'The Search for Sex and Love' and answers some of our interview questions. He's also generously offered an ebook copy of the book to one lucky commenter so please leave a comment at tthe end of the post with your email address for a chance to win it.
Welcome, Robert, how long have you been an author?
ROBERT: Wow. Well, I’ve written for most of my life, but until I started writing seriously, never actually kept anything I wrote. I guess is you’re asking when I started writing seriously to be published, it would be back in 2007 when I wrote my first self published book. That is a book
called Adventures in Casino Security. It’s not my best work, and not the best formatted thing, but it’s still out there, and still sells a few copies a month in both print and ebook! *chuckle*
Congratulations, Robert. We've all got to start somewhere right? And I think it's awesome it's still selling. What is your favourite genre?
ROBERT: You mean to write, or read? Well, I guess they would both probably be the same. I’m pretty open minded in what I read and have focused on romance for most of my current reading. That’s probably because that’s what I’ve been writing lately, so it helps to see what other authors are doing in the genre. As for my favorite thing to read and write, it would have to be comedy. And not just any comedy, I really love black comedy, or things that are unintentionally funny.

If someone hasn't read any of your work, what book would you recommend they start with and why?
ROBERT: That would depend on what they like to read and what would interest them. If you like romance, you can start with my sweet romance books (self published) A Writer’s Love Story and it’s sequel, A Writer’s Engagement. I’m working on a third book called in the series now called A
Writer’s Wedding. If you want erotic and graphic sex, I’d recommend The Search for Sex and Love. I’ll be sharing an excerpt of this one later on in the blog. But if you’re into comedy, if you want to laugh and won’t take things too seriously, I would recommend my self published book Terminating Vegas. This book is about a security officer who works in a Las Vegas casino. he hits the lottery and wins a few million dollars and instead of quitting his job, he decides he wants to be fired. I had fun writing this one and really enjoyed the things I had him doing to try and lose his job. You can find all of these on
They sound like great reads. What is the biggest surprise you’ve discovered about the writing process?
ROBERT: Probably how some authors get a big head after they’ve been published, or how if they don’t do will with a book they feel like a failure. If I sell one book to someone, I’m ecstatic! Someone actually paid to read something I wrote! My first royalty check from a professional publisher was about $17.40 and I couldn’t have been happier about it! I made a copy of the check and scanned a picture of it! I was tickled to make that much! But I’ve met other authors that feel like a failure if a book they’ve written doesn’t sell hundreds of copies right away. Another thing I’m surprised about is what books sell. Who even knows why? The book that I’ve written that sells the most copies (ebook copies, but a book’s a book, right?) is a self published book called Frigate: November. It’s gotten a fair share of one star reviews, people complain there is too much saluting going on and that it isn’t a realistic story, but it wasn’t supposed to be. And it sells left and right each month! And for the life of me, I can’t figure out why it sells so much better than other books I’ve written. Who knows why one book takes off and another doesn’t?

That is one question I'd love the answer to. Congratulations!
Can you tell us about one of your current works in progress?
ROBERT: I actually have two books I’m working on right now. The first is the third book in my romance series that I mentioned earlier, A Writer’s Wedding. There are about six women waiting for this one, and who am I to disappoint them? *chuckle* The other book I’m working on is tentatively titled Mommy and the Marine. This one is a story about a divorced woman with two sons ages six and four. A handsome retired marine moves in across the street from them and it turns into a romance. But what I like best about this story is the two sons. A six year old and especially a four year old can get away with saying just about anything. They are a LOT of fun to write! *chuckle* And I think a lot of women readers will be able to relate to trying to get some peace in the bathroom while a four year old pounds on the bathroom door yelling “Are you in there?”
I could definitely relate having two boys ages 11 and 5 as well as a 4 year old daughter. I'll have to keep my eye out for that one for sure. *grins*

Name one thing readers would be surprised to know about you.
ROBERT: One thing? Probably that even though I’ve written romance and and a couple erotic stories, I’m single and live by myself.

Name your top three writing goals?
ROBERT: Right at this moment, it would be these
1. Finish and get A Writer’s Wedding self published.
2. Finish writing Mommy and the Marine andget it submitted to a certain publisher.
(Sorry, can’t divulge which one right now. *chuckle*)
3. Work on three more stories for a submission called The Search for Sex and Love: Air, Land, and Sea and submit it to Silver Publishing. (If The Search for Sex and Love Sells a few copies, they might even accept it!)
If you had a warning label, what would it say?
ROBERT: Use caution, he never forgets.
If you had the chance to meet one of your characters privately, who would it be and what would you do?
ROBERT: Ohhh, that’s such a dirty question! *chuckle* I wouldn’t mind meeting Theresa in her “World of Paradise” personae. And...well...maybe have some fun with her on the beach under the moonlight? *chuckle*
(You’d have to read the story to understand that. Third story in The Search for Sex and Love)
Interesting ;-)

What is the naughtiest thing you’ve ever done?
ROBERT: That’s going to depend on what you consider “naughty”. I’ve went skinny dipping in the Adriatic Sea back in my military days. Is that naughty enough? Sorry no, no pictures. *chuckle*
LOL, well Robert it was certainly a pleasure to have you with us today, and I'm glad I could make you chuckle so often. For those of you who would like to learn more about Robert and his work he can be reached through these sites:

And if you’d like to read my blog: This is a really silly blog! Only read it if you have a sense of humor! (I haven’t added to it as often as I’d like to lately.)

Please enjoy the excerpt below.

Excerpt: This is from the second story in the book (There are three total). It’s called “Nerdgasm”. The main character of Gabrielle has overheard the office nerd talking to another coworker about using “sexual techniques” to please a woman. She has exchanged cell phone numbers with him and they have begun to text each other during work.

She bit her lip, trying to stop her imagination from running wild. Standing up, Gabrielle walked out of her cubicle for a minute. Her gaze was drawn toward Gerald's cubicle and noticed him peeking over the cubicle wall back at her. Anxious to continue, Gabrielle quickly returned to her chair and began texting again.
Gabrielle: Do you know any more techniques?

This time, no answer came. Gabrielle fought the urge to walk over to Gerald's cubicle, to ask him in person. She now couldn't shake the image of three fingers being inserted into her. Her mind ran wild with what other techniques he might know. How much knowledge did he really have?

She sat in her chair, not doing anything. She couldn't concentrate, and trying to get any work done was out of the question. Finally, after forty-five torturous minutes, her cell phone jingled. Gabrielle grabbed it anxiously.

Gerald: Sorry. Work intrudes here, too. I might know more techniques, why do you ask?

She read the text over and over. Why did she ask? She knew exactly why she had asked. No one had ever tried any "techniques" with her. No man had ever worried about her pleasure before his own. She'd only had sex with three men up to this point, and they had all pretty much been disappointments. A part of her craved to know more.

Gabrielle: Will you have lunch with me?

Gerald: Really? You want to eat lunch together? I wish I could, but I have a few meetings starting at noon.

As she read the text, her heart dropped. He had said no. She sat there, thinking that texting was taking too long. She had too many questions, too many wants. She was still wondering what to say next, when her cell phone jingled again.

Gerald: I'm free for dinner.

Gabrielle: I'd like that! How about I come over to your cubicle and we talk about it in person?

Best wishes,

Fairy Tales and a FREE Read with Elizabeth Black

And They Lived Happily Ever After – The New Fairy Tales Craze By Elizabeth Black

Fairy tales are becoming insanely popular – more popular than ever before. With television shows such as "Once Upon A Time" and "Grimm", re-imaginings of Show White and Red Riding Hood are emerging in Hollywood. Fairy tales have once again become popular in romance and fantasy fiction. Take Anne Rice's Sleeping Beauty trilogy, which she wrote using the pen name A. N. Roquelaure. Then there was "Snow, Glass, Apples", Neil Gaiman's retelling of Snow White from the Wicked Queen's point of view.

I've even seen calls for retellings of fairy tales for the horror market. Imagine Snow White discovering her seven dwarves are zombies, or Rapunzel is one of H. P. Lovecraft's Old Ones locked in that tower to keep her away from the townspeople. I've been invited to write two such horror stories for a submission call. One is the Rapunzel/Lovecraft story. The other is a zombie version of "The Bremen Town Musicians". These will be quite unique and fun.
I've started my own erotic fairy tales series, starting with my short story "Purr", which is a retelling of "Puss In Boots". This story was caught up in the censorship wars a few months back when Paypal pitched a fit over erotic content in romance e-books. "Purr" was banned for a few weeks at AllRomanceeBooks and Smashwords. So was my publisher's entire line of books. News of the censorship got out, which resulted in my selling a ton of copies of "Purr" at Amazon. There is a bit of kink that could easily raise a censor's eyebrows, but it's all between consenting adults. So there was no reason to ban the book. I won't tell you exactly what the kink is, but suffice to say that my Puss is a shapeshifting kitty, and kitties like cream. Use your imagination.
This summer, I'm self-publishing for the first time. I plan to release erotic retellings of two
fairy tales. "Climbing Her Tower" is a retelling of "Rapunzel". "Trouble In Thigh High Boots" is my second, longer retelling of "Puss In Boots". I plan to write an erotic retelling of "Beauty and the Beast" after those two have been on the market for awhile.

This isn't the first time I've retold a fairy tale with an erotic twist. The very first story I ever published was a retelling of Cinderella after she marries the handsome prince. Suffice to say things weren't going well in the Magic Kingdom. It was entitled "Happily Ever After", and I wrote it for Scarlet Magazine in the U. K. I've wanted to write more erotic fairy tales ever since, and now I've finally given in to that urge.

And now, a treat. Here is an excerpt from my soon-to-be-released erotic novella "Climbing Her Tower", my retelling of Rapunzel. Enjoy!

When Prince Richard emerged from the flue, he was covered with soot, so filthy that Rapunzel laughed, a hearty and cheery sound as much a tension release as it was joy at seeing his rumpled state. He swept her up in his soiled arms and kissed her firmly on the mouth, his lips bruising her own with his passion. In her distress over learning the witch's true identity and at nearly getting caught, she felt a strong need for his embrace and love. They didn't speak. They didn't even guide each other. Clothing flew from their bodies and in seconds, they intertwined on her bed, bodies writhing together like one mad animal. In seconds, he was inside her, thrusting with such vigor that he grunted with each stroke. He put so much of his weight against her body that she had trouble breathing; so she lifted her legs to allow him to penetrate her deeper and harder. With the thrill of nearly being caught inspiring their lust, they bucked and kissed, their fevered embraces growing more and more passionate as the seconds passed. Prince Richard released her and with a rough grip on her arm, tossed her onto her stomach. He fisted her long hair and pulled it, forcing her head back with a jerk. As he guided his cock into her mouth, he used her hair to move her head back and forth until he thrust her head so fully against himself, that she took his entire cock into her mouth. She gagged but did not release him. Instead, she grabbed his hips with her hands and thrust him deeper into the back of her throat. She relished the taste of his cock, salty and hot, with its own musky smell that made her head spin with desire. He grew thicker and longer as he moved in and out of her sweetness, tongue flicking along his shaft from side to side, making him jerk in his lust. She took all of him in, as far back into her throat as she could, and with a muffled cry, he spurt into her mouth, hips bucking with each ejaculation. She swallowed every last drop and wiped her cheek and lips of the few that got away.

He left her tower by the light of the full moon, climbing down on her golden tresses. She watched as he walked off into the distance and then rode away on his horse. Alone, she hummed to herself and hugged her body where he had caressed her. She cupped her full breasts and imagined the feel of his soft lips against her nipples. He would return in a fortnight to pleasure her yet again! And soon she would finish weaving her ladder so she could at long last make her escape. She needed only this evening to weave the ladder long enough for her to climb down and drop to the ground – and into his arms forever.

Here is the blurb for "Purr", my short erotic version of Puss In Boots.

The alluring puss in boots Muca aspired for her master to become the richest and most respected man in the land, but her job was cut out for her. Could she convince the local farmers to trust in her against the vicious ogre who ruled the region?

An Introduction, An Excerpt, and A GIVEAWAY with the Talented Jodi Redford

I'm sure most of you know her, but just in case I'm about to introduce you all to one of my favorite paranormal romance writers of all time. Please help me welcome Jodi Redford to Labelle Books.
Today Jodi not only tempts us with this very delicious cover art, but she has also offered a giveaway to one lucky commenter.
Welcome Jodi!

First of all, a big thanks to Jennifer for inviting me on her blog today. So I often get asked what first drew me to write in the paranormal romance genre. I’ve always been fascinated by anything that falls out of the realm of ordinary. Even when I was a kid, I remember being fascinated by ghosts and all sorts of other creepies. Don’t get me wrong, I was a huge chicken. Still am, but it doesn’t stop me from watching all the scary movies I can—with my hands over my eyes, half the time.
But aside from the scary aspects of the paranormal, there’s also an undeniably dark, seductive side to it as well. I still remember sitting in the movie theater with my best friend when the original Fright Night movie came out, and being spellbound by the uber sexy vampire Jerry (played by the equally sexilicious Chris Sarandon). Right then and there, I was hooked. And today we paranormal lovers have a veritable smorgasbord of deliciously alpha and oh-so-wicked vamps to drool over in True Blood. Personally, I’m an Alcide girl. Ooh yeah, I could spend all day
scratching that werewolf’s belly. Still, I wouldn’t be opposed to a little Eric fang action now and then, either. I think what I love most about the True Blood world is the ever expanding cast of
paranormal beings. Vamps, werewolves, fairies, witches, and an entire gamut of other shifters—you name it, the show delivers. For a paranormal fan and author, it’s both addictive and inspiring.

When I began writing the That Old Black Magic series, I knew that I wanted to do something different there too. Creating a paranormal realm where Bengal tigers, werewolves, werebears and all kinds of other unusual shifters happened to be witches’ familiars was something I could sink my teeth into because it was different and quirky. Once I gave my muse the freedom to get as wild and whacky with the cast of characters as it wanted, there was no going back to the land of normal. A drool-worthy shark-shifter sheriff, you say? Check! A sexy demon who collects souls for a living? Double check! How about a dead voodoo queen with an army of zombies? Triple check!

As the world inhabiting the That Old Black Magic series continues to grow, so too does the paranormal realm within it. It certainly gives me lots of wiggle room to be as creative as I want, and I’m very fortunate that the readers have been just as willing to go along with the wild ride right beside me.

Now for the giveaway. Just leave a comment with your email address about some of the paranormal aspects or beings that you’d like to see more of, and you’ll be entered to win any choice of book from my backlist.
I'd like to thank Jodi for stopping by today. It was a huge honor to have her here. You are all in for a treat. Please enjoy the excerpt below, and don't forget to comment for a chance to win.
We'll announce Jodi's winner by the end of the day on Wednesday June 13.

They stopped in the entry, and her pulse ratcheted up several notches. She stared at the daybed before jerking her gaze to Sam. Immense heat simmered in his sin-filled eyes.

She blurted the first thing that popped into her mind. Unfortunately, it wasn’t one of her more intelligent responses. “The bed is only for display.”

Another flash of sardonic humor flickered across Sam’s face. “What kind of saleswoman would you be if you didn’t test out the merchandise?”

“I…” Ah damn. Her tongue-tied state increased a thousandfold when Sam’s hands planted on either side of her head, effectively boxing her against the wall. The way he was looking at her caused her pulse to stutter. Sure, there’d been plenty of men who’d gazed at her with lust before the curse ultimately knocked them on their asses. Even so, those occasions didn’t hold a candle to the barely restrained hunger riding Sam’s gorgeous features.

She licked her lips and watched his pupils dilate as he tracked the motion of her tongue. “I—I don’t know.”

Sam’s head descended until they were practically nose to nose. “We can’t have you selling a bed you haven’t stamped a personal testimony on. What if the springs squeak?” His whiskey-smooth voice held an unmistakable hint of tease.

Before her brain produced a not entirely idiotic response, Sam’s mouth claimed hers. The same electric jolt of desire and apprehension she’d experienced in the ballroom slammed into her with renewed force. A moan slipped free before she could cage it. The sound must have encouraged Sam, because he re-angled his approach, his tongue delving past her lips as if it had every right to do so. She truly wished with every fiber in her being that it didn’t, but the heady pleasure Sam was delivering told a different story.

Battles of the Heart with Natasha Blackthorne

Love hurts. We’ve all experienced it and yet as humans we crave love and contact with others. We desire to have a lover who shares our most intimate selves and deepest secrets. Yet there are some people who have been hurt and disappointed so badly in their formative years that they fear emotional closeness as much as they crave it. How can they get the touch and attention they hunger for without risking hurt? Some people choose to use sex as a way to gain a kind of counterfeit intimacy.

But what happens when two such people fall in love with each other and they want to merge? Surely they can’t simply drop their dysfunctional patterns of behavior and open themselves to love without experiencing growing pains. What does it mean to want to love another person but to have no clue as to how to truly reveal one’s self and be vulnerable? Is it possible for such person to want to open but find himself or herself literally unable to change? When something
like this happens, a person is faced with a formidable inner battle.

This battle is the heart of the first two books in my erotic historical romance series Carte Blanche.

My Carte Blanche Series explores these kinds of relationships through the stories of wealthy, powerful men and the women they want to take as mistresses. I chose to set the stories against the backdrop of the Federalist and Jeffersonian periods in America because that is a fascinating time period to me. I also think it is a time when America as a nation was unsure, self protective and putting up a façade of being in control yet boiling with growing pains under the surface.

Grey’s Lady and its sequel, White Lace & Promises, are two very different stories. They occur at two very different places in the development of a relationship.

Grey’s Lady is a story of falling in love. Beth and Grey are two emotionally injured and self-protective people meeting and experiencing a very strong sexual attraction and an unnerving emotional pull towards each other. This attraction and pull is so overwhelming that what happens quickly evolves into a fiery point of ultimatum.

White Lace and Promises is not the story of two people falling in love. It is the story of how does one move from being in love to actually opening up and giving the kind of love the other person needs. Beth and Grey have moved beyond the point of reacting from their surface personas with each other. They want to come to compromise with each other. They want to love and cherish the other. Yet old conditioned beliefs and patterns of behavior are too deeply ingrained. They do
communicate their needs and their desires to each other. They do listen to each other. But it doesn’t help. They can’t change easily. They don’t know how to love because in their childhoods they were never shown the way to properly love.

White Lace and Promises is a story that explores the pain and angst of emotional growth in two flawed but well-intentioned people. How do people grow and come to terms with their own demons in order to make a marriage work? In order to make real love work?

Both Beth and Grey have been living their life with their personality split into compartments. Before they can have true intimacy with the other they must bring all the sides of themselves together and show all of themselves to another person at once. They must strip off their protective masks and reveal themselves fully. It is painful for them to do this. And there is great risk at stake.

Between two willful people, one person must remove their mask first and jeopardize everything for the love of the other. That person is Beth. The way I saw it is, she shows her strength by showing her weakness. She must suddenly face all her inner insecurity that she had hidden even from herself through her focus on sexual conquest. This fills her with an agonizing vulnerability.

Will their love be able to withstand the stress of their mutual growth towards real love?

Grey’s Lady is a story of moving from lust to being in love. White Lace and Promises is a story about moving from being in love to truly giving love to a lover. The latter is a far more emotional journey than the former and those emotions are not always pretty or pleasant. But then again, how often does real life romance move smoothly? Loving someone means accepting the hurt that comes with love. We accept that our loved one will definitely hurt or disappoint us at some point.
That’s just part of being human. Humans are flawed and can only give flawed love. Sometimes the hurt we’ve been through, the hurt we’ve shared with this lover forms a stronger bond and makes our joys all the more ardent.

Blurb: Seeking sexual excitement and conquest, poor but beautiful Beth seduces wealthy merchant prince Grey Sexton, only to find herself the pursued as he seeks to own her body and soul.

Flouting the moral standards of Jeffersonian America, temptress Beth McConnell lets no man touch her heart. Her motto is love them once and leave them burning.

But when she boldly seduces Grey Sexton, a self-controlled merchant prince from New York, she finds herself too fascinated by his ice-over-fire nature to stay away. His possessive determination to own her, body and soul, threatens to expose her secret erotic life to public shame.

But Beth will only surrender her love to a man she can trust. And Grey's materialistic approach to
relationships leaves her little reason to believe he can ever give her what she truly needs.
For these two cynical yet lonely people, can deep sexual intimacy work a miracle and lead to the
opening of their hearts?

Reader Advisory: This is a work of Erotic Historical Romance and it uses the graphic language and situations of Erotic Romance. It is a short novella (18K word count, approx. 66 pages).

Philadelphia, PA
Spring, 1812

Grey couldn't keep his eyes off her. Philadelphian women were the cream of the Republic, but damn if this one didn't exceed all previous definitions. Curling wisps of hair escaped from her indigo bonnet and trailed down her graceful neck. He'd never seen hair that colour—like champagne shimmering in the moonlight.

She looked up, giving him his first full sight of her face. Sky blue eyes, full of aching, longing…and something else. Abject sadness. Haunting.

Something caught in his chest. Something reminiscent of pleurisy. Well, it wasn't surprising. Philadelphia air was notoriously insalubrious and the day was oppressively damp. He blinked, glancing away. Was he losing his wits? Haunting eyes? What romantic nonsense. If he didn't know better, he'd think he was getting a fever.

He glanced at his pocket watch. God, time was crawling. He'd arranged this series of lectures to entice potential investors, and last week in Boston had been most profitable. However, today, Mason's Bookstore was packed with adolescent boys who sat with their mouths agape listening to local captains recount tales of privateering glory. His own speech on how and why to invest in a voyage had been met with yawns and bobbing heads. What a waste of an afternoon.

Shifting in his seat, he sensed her gaze. Lingering. Burning him. Against his will, he turned back to her. Those eyes seemed to reach across the room, directly into him, to touch his emptiness.

What a fanciful notion. His wits must be addled.

She didn't drop her gaze, as a modest woman might. Instead, she appraised him, boldly weighing and measuring. A hint of her tongue flirted along the seam of her pink lips. Her eyes smouldered as if she'd read his every erotic longing and fantasy in his face.
