An Interview & A Giveaway with Author Jackie M. Smith

Winnie Douglas always loved taking pictures of her family and her hometown. One day, while reading a war magazine, pictures of the soldiers whose strength and courage touched her. With her family’s blessing, she journeys to Paris where a French magazine hires her to take pictures of the war. Henry Whitfield answers the call of duty and travels halfway across the world to fight in the war. Far away from his family and Canadian hometown, he feels the loneliness. On the battlefield, he meets an angel. Afraid she is just a dream, he befriends Winnie. War brought them together. Will it tear them apart?
Welcome Jackie, How long have you been an author?
Jackie: I’ve been an author officially for two years, but unofficially, I’ve been writing stories since I was fourteen.
Congratulations, so what's your favourite genre?
Jackie: My favorite genre is historical romance. I love reading stories about past events and how
they affected people and their way of life.
Historical romances are one of my all time favorites too. What is the biggest surprise you’ve
discovered about the writing process?
Jackie: The biggest surprise I’ve discovered is how creative I can be while writing. Ideas come to life on paper through characters I dream about. It’s amazing how our surroundings can inspire
stories.
Awesome, Can you tell us about one of your current works in progress?
Jackie: One of my current works in progress is a historical romance set during King Henry VIII’s reign. It’s a story about fighting for family while finding true love amidst a difficult situation.
It sounds awesome!
Name your top three writing goals?
Jackie: My first goal would be to have a few more books published before the end of this year. My second writing goal is have a book tour. And my third writing goal would be to have a book published in French for my French-speaking family members and close friends.
If you had a warning label, what would it say?
Jackie: Spicy! Handle with care!
LOL, If you had the chance to meet one of your characters privately, who would it be and what would you do?
Jackie: If I had the chance to meet one of my characters it would be the hero in A Soldier’s Vow
Henry Whitfield. I would give him a big hug and thank him for being so brave in fighting for my country during the First World War.

Very noble, now what is the naughtiest thing you’ve ever done?
Jackie: Oh, my. *Smiles* The naughtiest thing I’ve ever done was “distract” my guy while he was driving. I know it was a bit dangerous, but oh so exciting and naughty.
Sounds like it, *grins* I'd like to thank Jackie for joining us today. For those of you who would like to learn more about Jackie and her work she can be reached through these links:
