Meet Sam Caldwell, father of Mac Caldwell and Peter Caldwell, hero of Now and Forever 3, Blind Love. Sam is 64 years old, a retired professor of ornithology and a newly married man. Sam talks about what it’s like to be in love again after being widowed and hi role in the new book.
Are you upset your name is not in the title?
Sam: Hell, no. My son, Peter, is the hero of this thing, not me.
Is your love interest the way you pictured her?
Sam: Love interest? I had no idea Jean was giving me a love life. I’m 64, you know. Bless her heart, though. She hit the nail on the head with Patsy. Heh heh, yeah.
Do you have any annoying habits your author did not share with us in your book?
Sam: If she didn’t tell you, I’m not fool enough to!
Are you happy with the profession your author chose for you or would you rather be working at something totally different and why?
Sam: Hell yes! Hate to be repeating myself here, but she knows how I feel about birds.
Would you like to be taller, blonder, thinner or smarter than you have been portrayed?
Sam: Wouldn’t we all? LOL. I’d just like to be younger, I think. Though I’m pretty young mentally.
Are you planning to make an appearance in a sequel?
Sam: Damn right I am! Now and Forever 4 is in the planning stages and I told Jean I was expecting to be in it…especially since I was left out of the first two. She agreed.
Now for a personal question. Is there enough sex in the book for you? Would you have liked more?
Sam: Think I would have like it to be a little more closed door. Not used to having people peering in when I’m making love to a woman. Jean, hear that? In NAF4, only closed door stuff, got that?
Did you author handle your “love” scenes the way you like or was she too explicit or not explicit enough?
Sam: Much too explicit for my taste. I’m a private guy.
How many re-writes did you have to live through?
Sam: I got pretty nervous there for a while. She was slicing away at this book and I kept dodging the scissors…so to speak.
Did your author listen to you when you tried to redirect her/him?
Sam: Hell, everyone knows you can’t tell Jean anything. Mac and Danny already warned me not to waste my breath. So I shut up and it turned out all right. Now I’m a bit worried about NAF4.
I'd like to thank Jean and Sam for joining us today. The Now and Forever Series is a must have, if you haven't already read them. You won't be disappointed.
Please enjoy the blurb and excerpt below, and leave a comment with your email address at the end of the post. Jean has generously offered to give away two pdf copies of Now and Forever 3: Blind Love to two lucky commenters.

Can a handsome, charming, womanizing professor win the heart of a temporarily blind ballerina? Love and desire, blackmail and secrets come to Kensington State University. This full length novel is three parts love and passion mixed with one part intrigue, stirred up with a twist of mystery and heated up to three and a half flames.
Mac walked around to the driver’s side of the car and patted his pockets, no keys. He remembered last seeing them on the front hall table. He tip-toed quietly into the foyer so Callie
wouldn’t know he’d forgotten them. He stopped when he heard the soft purr of Peter’s voice. Mac inched his way to the arch leading to the living room and peered into the room, moving back to remain unseen.
“You’ve been married awhile, Callie. Isn’t it time you took a lover?” Peter asked, sidling up to her.
Mac held his breath but couldn’t stop watching.
“Oh, but I have a lover, Peter,” she said, holding his gaze.
Mac froze. His stomach knotted.
“You do?” The surprise caused his voice to rise an octave.
“He absolutely sizzles.” Beads of sweat formed on Mac’s forehead.
“Does Mac know?” Peter raised his eyebrows.
“I don’t think so.” She turned away from Peter and Mac could no longer see her face.
“I don’t suppose you’d tell me who it is,” he asked, leaning toward her.
Callie whirled around to face him, a broad grin on her face.
“It’s Mac. He’s hot, Peter. So hot…I couldn’t possibly, wouldn’t ever need anyone else. Your brother is an absolute pistol in the bedroom.”
Mac’s cheeks puffed up. He quietly emitted a silent sigh of relief and smiled.
Peter laughed loudly.
“You passed the Peter Caldwell Loyalty Test with flying colors.” Peter walked over to an open box
“You know what I could use?” Callie put her hand on his arm.
“What?” He reached into a box then stopped.
“A brother. I don’t have one of those,” she said, blinking back tears.
Peter hugged her.
“You’ve got one now,” he whispered.
We'll announce Jean's winners on Wednesday May 2, 2012.
