I'd like everyone to help me welcome talented author Elaine Raco Chase to the blog. Today Elaine is in the hot seat as we learn more about her and one of her many great stories, Double Occupancy.
Welcome Elaine, it's a pleasure to have you with us. Can you tell us how long you've been an author?
Elaine: I've been a published author since 1978, with sixteen novels, one non-fiction how-to-write the Amateur Detective novel, an edited a book of award winning mystery stories. I have all my rights back and am now updating, enhancing and adding to all the novels and turning them into ebooks. None were ever done on a computer, so it's been an interesting experience.
Oh wow, you've been in the field for quite awhile. Congratulations on all of your success, and of course the best of luck with your new projects. Can you tell us what your favourite genre is?
Elaine: I love writing sexy contemporary romance as well as sexy mystery/suspense.
*Smiles* and I love reading contemporary romances as well as sexy mystery/suspense. What is the biggest surprise you’ve discovered about the writing process?
Elaine: Well TV makes everyone think that you just sit down and an entire book tumbles out of your brain and into print. In actuality, it's research, research, research – the characters, the plotting, the dialogue, everything. Writing is hard work but very rewarding. I love getting fan mail that says: "Wow, I found where your characters really live. I was going to stop but there was a big fence around the property." Yikes!
LOL, Can you tell us about one of your current works in progress?
Elaine: I am currently updating, expanding and doing quite a bit of re-writing on my very first contemporary romance: Rules of the Game. It was written in 1978, published in 1980 under the Dell Candlelight Romance line which then became Dell Ecstasy. So in re-writing, I pulled out all my original notes, re-connected my brain to the characters and expanded the story line from it's original 55,000 words by 60 pages or more, changed the ending a bit, turned the sweet romance into a few explicit love scenes (we weren't allowed those back then! And Adam & Samantha have been waiting such a long time!) and unfortunately had to adjust the 'war.' Adam was a Vietnam vet …now Iraq war, so I took the liberty and highlighted a great cause: Wounded Warriors.
Sounds like a great read. Now, if you had a warning label, what would it say?
Elaine: She should be stirred/not shaken – cause she can be volatile over certain issues.
Interesting, lol. What is the naughtiest thing you’ve ever done?
Elaine: Accidently stumbled into a Secret Service sting operation – and didn't understand what was going on and refused to leave!
OMG, that sounds like an amazing story for your next novel. *Smiles* for now we'll just use our imaginations and picture some sexy men working undercover to catch the bad guy and pictures ourselves as the damsel in distress that gets the hero in the end...

For now Elaine has decided to treat us with more on Double Occupancy. Enjoy!
PROVOCATIVE, EXPLICIT, EDGY & SO MUCH FUN!
All Casey Reynolds wanted was peace and quiet and a long vacation from covering the crime beat in Boston. That's why she agreed to borrowing a villa in Mexico to rest, be alone and work on her novel.
But then he showed up -- Travis Craig. He said he was offered the villa to recover from a serious illness. He had just lost his teaching job and had no money to leave.
She agreed with his plan to share the house -- but on her terms. Soon rest and relaxation were a thing of the past when their double occupancy proved too erotic to control.

Here's an excerpt from Double Occupancy – available on Kindle/Nook/Smashwords/ and ITunes Bestseller:
"It was a stupid idea, sharing this place. It's not like a co-ed dorm, it's just you and me, not a bunch of people. And it's quite obvious that all this togetherness has just made our hormones go crazy.
"Yes, that's it…we are just two horny people being controlled by hormones. Between you being sick, then playing Tarzan and our trip to the jungle lagoon and all those olives and too much sun, and wet bathing suits. And you getting mad over the seven erotic knights – with a k, and my bad sunburn. Then me being Cleopatra with the perky ass and the milk baths and position number thirty-eight in the Kama Sutra.
"And you playing doctor and all that clinical foreplay and…and our underwear tumbling around in the washer and dryer together and wet bathing suits and you naked with a staple in your navel and –" her words skidded to a halt, she took a breath and realized she wasn't making any sense. "God, I need a frozen cheesecake."
At his snicker, Casey squared her shoulders. "Don't even go there, mister. I am not PMS'ing, contrary to your masculine brain. I never have PMS and the pills I take only give you a period three times a year and I'm not due for another three months." Her hand slapped over her mouth. "Oh, my God, you have successfully driven me insane!"
